Sure there is. All-time, Peyton is clearly the best QB. But right now? A guy who has to worry about playing in cold weather because he lacks the ability to feel the football? That's like saying Ray Lewis is the best MLB in football because of what he did in 2001.

Clearly? That's news to a lot of people

I do not care if Peyton has a wet noodle for an arm, but from what I saw, he was incredible.

He looked just about as good as any other QB in the NFL.

I'd put him somewhere around 8-10, which is obviously good enough. I don't buy this bull shite that he's somehow up there with Brady, Rodgers, etc. because he won the Superbowl. Trent Dilfer proved you don't necessarily have to have a GOOD quarterback to win it all. That being said, he was great last night and I'm happy for Dull Joe.

If you factor in age I think you'd clearly take Flacco before Brees Brady and Peyton.

He's no better or worse than he was before the game yesterday.

He's the same dude.

Not top 5, but top 10

Flacco may have led his team to a 22 point lead, but he also almost led his team to losing a game after having a 22 point lead. His con list is much longer than those of Brady, Manning, and Brees.

RG3 had the highest completion % this season. RG3 > Brees by your metric.

Flacco wasn't playing with a team that had the best defense in NFL history or the best special teams in the league either. This Ravens' defense was above average this year and barely so.

Their offensive line had issues all season long, Smith was still coming into his own, their tight ends didn't strike fear into anyone, and Cameron's playcalling was stale and uninspired for much of the year.

Can somebody remind me who the 1st Team All-Pro QB was this year? Anybody? Oh yeah, it was that old guy in Denver.

I should have said "better" QB, but Peyton is clearly one of the very best QB's ever. He's also a QB I wouldn't want on my team right now.

Manning will be 37 by opening day and Brady will be 35. Realistically those guys have next year at a top level and then they'll drop noticeably. Flacco is 28 and in his prime.

I agree with your top 7, but I'd rearrange the top 4. Despite being an elite QB and undeniably one of the best in the game, I think Aaron Rodgers is a little overrated. His O-line may be less than perfect, but his WR corps is the best in the game. And, as a personal note, I just don't like him; he shows up his teammates too often on the field IMO.

1. Brees
2. P. Manning
3. Brady
4. Rodgers
5. Eli
6. Ben
7. Flacco

re: Where is Flacco in your NFL QB hierarchy?
Brees is not the best in the league by any means. He has had better supporting casts the last two season than the other 3 guys. Rodgers had the worst pass blocking in the year. Statistically, no line was worse at pass protection.

I can't put Ben or Eli ahead of Flacco. Eli has two legit number ones and didn't even put up 4,000 yards this year and has never thrown less than a 10 picks in a season. Ben takes way too long to make a decision with the ball and when he does he makes dumbass throws.

Flacco is better than brees right now...there is no comparison

quote:

Drew Brees: 43 TDs, 19 INT, 5177 YDS, 63% CMP, 96.3 QBR Joe Flacco: 22 TDs, 10 INT, 3817 YDS, 59.7 CMP, 87.7 QBR Outside of the interceptions, Drew Brees destroys him. Let's take a few other things into consideration; The fact that entire team was put on Brees shoulders because of Bountygate. The fact that he had the shittiest defense of all time on his team, having to force throws to catch up. How about Brees playing without Payton? You know, the same duo that put together arguably the greatest offense of all time in 2011. The season that Brees threw 46 touchdowns and nearly 4500 yards. Last season, with his coach his stats were unbelievable. And although this was a down year for Brees, it was still better than majority of the quarterbacks. Pro Football Focus graded Brees out as the 4th best quarterback this past season, right behind Rodgers, Brady, and Manning. Flacco has been outstanding, especially in the Post Season. I will not deny that. But, Brees' level of play in the playoff is absurd as well. Much more so than Flacco. Joe Flacco's stats in 13 playoff games: 19 TD, 8 INT, 2672 YDS, 55.5% CMP, 86.0 RTG Drew Brees' stats in 9 playoff games: 22 TD, 4 INT, 2980 YDS, 67.0% CMP, 104 RTG I see what you're saying though, Flacco is definitely better then Drew Brees.

Dude
