Im going to try some of the breweries in this tournament that I haven't had. One that's not on the list that is excellent though is Allagash...
As rutiger noted, this is only American Breweries available in Louisiana (someone else can do the import breweries).. The reason being that more people wouldn't have to not vote a brewery BC they hadn't tried it (at least to minimize this). Part if this list will be to help guide newcomers to craft beer. I already have another tournament in mind when this on us done. Best beers available in Louisiana.
Sadly there are countless great breweries not on the list bc Louisiana does not get them.

Group A - Bear Republic, Stone
Group B - Green Flash, Ommegang
Group B is definitely the superior group of beers, IMO.

So while technically not available in LA, two of the better beers I had this year were collaboration beers involving Terrapin...

I forgot and no one told me to put schmaltz in te list. Oh we'll. they would have been lucky to make it past the 2nd round anyway.

Damn, Bear Republic being last in group A is rough. I love BR.
Big Bear, Racer 5, Hop Rod and Red Rocket are all regulars in my rotation

Oh well You're correct.
I like a few things from them every once in a while.

Dang. St. Arnold's is beating out Ommegang. Didn't see that happening.

I can't see it -- the trifecta of Ommegang, Green Flash, and St. Arnold is pretty hard to beat. Outside of Bear Republic, the Group A breweries put out products that compete with other beers that I simply like better. They kinda fall into the afterthought or back-up category for me
But like my paw paw always said, opinions are like buttholes, everybody's got one

Lots of homerism in the voting.

I'd say Stone and Sierra Nevada are clearly ahead of either of those 3, and NOLA is on a similar level as Saint Arnold. While I can cherry pick a few beers from Ommegang, Green Flash and Saint Arnold that are fantastic, Stone's entire lineup is great, and their specialty releases take it to another level. Sierra Nevada is consistently excellent from top to bottom, something I can't say about Saint Arnold, or even Green Flash. Ommegang makes great beers, but they are all Belgian styled, so I miss out on a stout and IPA from them.
I guess if you're not a hop head, Stone and Sierra Nevada would be lower in your book.
