The " gun show loophole" is so stupid. There are lots of gun owners on the poli board that really believe there is a gunshow loophole where people just go and buy guns just willy nilly without any background checks.

true but the term "gun show" may also be used as person to person sale without background check? I don't think they use "gun show" in this way but ??

I understand that but the majority of guns sold at shows are by FFL dealers. The media make gun shows out to be a free for all for buying guns

Bayoushooter is a different case. I was referring to gun shows. I love buying from Bayoushooter.

Can you be more specific? In Alabama, I went to a gun show and started looking at M1A's. The guy running the station said I could pay him $1500 (something like that, I forget the price) right there and walk out with a gun, no questions asks no paperwork signed. Not that I necessarily have a problem with this... but yeah.

I would hope not, but follow LSU recruiting for a year and it will teach you not to get prematurely excited

I guess all show are different but the majority of the vendors I see at the gun shows I attend are licensed FFL dealers and reunite background checks. Sure there are private sales by patrons attending the show and private sales by vendors without FFLs, but in my experience most sales at gun shows require a background check.

Any individual may get a booth and sell or trade their firearms. FFl dealers that have booths must still do paperwork and record keeping.

Again, I'm not saying that sales without background checks don't go on at gun shows, but the media Is over hyping it big time, as they do with anything else gun related.

And there are laws already that make that illegal, if you're an FFL dealer. As you say, it's bound to happen. There's bad apples in all things, but there is no loophole, other than private citizens being able to do what they wish with their property.

It really is going to depend on the state. I don't care if New York bans them as long as Louisiana does not. Gun control should be an issue for each state, and for you to only buy those certain guns in your state.

I'd agree if the 2nd amendment didn't exist.
