he will bring you nothing but pain and disappointment. I thought his x and os would be good but they weren't all that good. He is a terrible recruiter so basically prepare to suck till yall fire him

I call bull on that. One year with Brady's players he looks like he can coach, then shows no intelligence as associated with basketball. Dude is a loser.

Your future is here right now. Your post expresses everything about Trent Johnson and his tenure at LSU except for his first year. I am so glad y'all took him, but Trent is brain damaged. He is that guy who sings the song of the next big up and comer who never comes.

You have to remember though, TCU basketball has been bad since 1998 when we made the NCAA tournament under Billy Tubbs. Ever since then its been either really bad seasons or average seasons. Last year when we went 8-8 in the MWC was probably our best season this millennium. I would be perfectly OK with even an NIT appearance at this point, as bad as our program has been. Just something better than what I have seen the past 15 years. If TJ can get TCU to the NCAA tournament in the next 5 years, I would be satisfied.

Trent is a lazy recruiter. Be prepared for hard times. He was a bad hire for your program.

He runs high school offensive sets and brings in guys as you would on a video game(PG, SG and SF can only make threes and have two big guys down low to get a board). Watch where most of the shots come from and watch how he sits down during the game instead of being up and active. He is a terrible coach and the only reason he had success here the first year was that he had marcus thornton (who was the SEC player of the year), garrett temple (best defender in SEC at the time), bo spencer(who seemed to never miss threes that year) and tasmin mitchell(smartest LSU bball player i have ever seen). So in conclusion, if he can't get a team like that, then TCU is screwed for his tenure.

This is exactly what we said for years. I hope he proves to be good for you, but based on his tenure here at LSU, I'm not feeling too good about your chances.

This means that you would have to finish in the top 5 in a conference with: Kansas Texas Baylor Kansas State West Virginia Oklahoma State Oklahoma And Trent Johnson is your coach. Sorry. I don't see it.

Trent was just a terrible fit at LSU. He may turn out to be a better fit at TCU, but his brand of basketball is painful to watch in every aspect. He was a mediocre recruiter as well

This sounds earily similar to when he came into LSU and what he did here.

everything you mentioned in your post with the exception of his first year where even I, and i never played basketball, could have coached that team to the NCAAT, that is exactly what LSU fans were treated to the whole time TJ was here. I do miss his interviews there can't be a more boring person living to give an interview.

I was advocating for his firing when he won the SEC championship with Brady's players. The only thing he can coach is aggression on defense. Ball movement is non-existent under his watch.

Dude is a bit stand-offish. He won't be reaching out to alumni groups and past players. Has a kinda "leave the F alone" kinda approach.

I agree with this. He has one good recruiting assistant on staff and is generally able to bring one or two big guys every once in a while. He has a better base in DFW area, and I was impressed he was able to get Kaviar Shepard. Hope he is able turn things at TCU around.
