All I keep hearing is how LSU will be mediocre next year because we're losing so many players, but look at the starters Bama's losing.

Offense
OL
Chance Wormack
Barrett Jones
DJ Flucker (likely)

TE
Michael Williams
Kelly Johnson

RB
Eddie Lacy (likely)

Defense
DL
Jessie Williams
Damion Square

LB
Nico Johnson

DB
Dee Milliner (likely)
Robert Lester

LSU loses - Mingo, Montgomery, Logan, Reid, Minter, Simon, Lonergan, and Clement

Bama's losing 11 starters compared to LSU's 8.

I'm not saying we're going undefeated, 11-1, etc... but I just don't see how a logical person can completely discount LSU's chances next year (even with our schedule) while saying Bama's going to run away with the MNC.

So you're saying there's a chance.

If I was mccarron I'd probably leave too. I stand firm that he is the best draft eligible QB. That's not a guarantee next year.

I think people underestimate Bama's oline importance. They give AJ 10 seconds to throw the ball and give LAcy/Yeldon giant holes to run through. They are losing their 3 best OLineman in Fluker, Warmack, and Jones who is the brains and glue behind the unit.

I promise you $abun will talk several out of leaving

may even go as far as manipulating their draft grade to get them to stay

At this point, bama gets the benefit of the doubt.

This will be by far the most painful losses for Bama and McCarron. Having all day to throw the ball makes QB's look really good. Losing a center, guard, and tackle is going to put a dent in the running game.

Right

And even with great recruiting, it's not easy to get 3 starters like that on the line again

I'm not saying their line won't be good, but it won't be nearly as good as this year

Alabama lost 7 starters on defense in 2011. They didn't seem to have too much trouble winning it again this year.

We'll be losing 7 major contributors on defense this year, yet I doubt we'll see the same success next year that Alabama experienced this year.

There's a coaching and talent gap between the programs which is leading to this disparity.

The last time Alabama lost 3+ starting offensive lineman, they won the national title the next year (2009).

Yep but you forgot to mention the most important position and what is happening.

LSU - Head Coach is staying

Bama - Head Coach is staying

Advantage Bama!!

Well, now what excuse is the board going to rely on if LSU loses to Bama next season? They were banking on the early defection/lost starter argument. Way to go.
