Does the standard TV football angle make for unintelligent fans?

It certainly captures a lot of action (LOS, quaterback/backfield) but as a viewer it leads to many assumptions on how the play unfolds.
Case in point: A football fan I met, told all Tebow does is make plays and will be a HOF quarterback/win 2 Super Bowls(which I then asked him to put his money where his mouth is), saying he makes throws when needed-even though it is well documented that all of his comebacks last year were against soft-prevent style defenses. If the networks/NFL adapted the "behind center angle"(or Madden angle) would fans be able to read plays better and understand the game better?

Maybe but we'd miss a lot of the stuff that's going on in the game

I think 99% of fans would hate actually watching a game this way and would be lost as fvck.
I personally wish the NFL would show both. I don't think any of the NCAA broadcasting networks could do it well, but I'd love it if the NFL would atleast replay games throughout the week from the sky cam or from behind the QB.
People would learn a helluva lot about the game from watching replays at these angles.

I don't know if it would make fans more intelligent but it is the angle I prefer to watch during games. I always sit end zone when I have a chance. I prefer to see the holes that the running back has. The full routes of the receivers and the way the o line and d line react to each other.

One reason TV has become so staggeringly popular in the last 50 years is that the sideline angle/follow the ball camera shot is so perfectly suited to TV
why change it?

I've heard the NFL doesn't want to show this because there really are a lot of blown assignments throughout the game when you look at it from above. The problem is the playmakers are lost in a sea of big lineman that obstruct views. So it would make everyone pissed that their all-pro QB didn't throw to the wide open wr streaking down the middle; ignoring the fact he left tackle is 6'7" obstructing the QBs view as the 4.5 speed, 280lb right DE is applying pressure. I'd rather see a QB and RB camera angle.

Most football fans are already stupid.

You can download the all22 film of most major college and all pro games already. The all22 shows all of the players at once, but it is a wide angle so its not exactly exciting.

at this point don't rabid fans want the more details in their game? They miss most of the action with the standard angle

my boy's seats in tiger stadium are right in the middle of the SEZ, upper deck. perfect angle to watch games
it really is awesome to watch the plays unfold and you can see how the WRs are going to be open

I honestly wish the wire camera angle was the permanent one. At the start of the play just have it behind the QB and then adjust with the play. I've never really understand why it's from the side and not from behind the offense

Hopefully, one day the "Madden View" will at least be an option. I was just saying the exact thing that some of you are the other day. You really are left guessing when the QB makes a long throw.

If this was an option we would have even more idiots acting like they are smart.

This is already an option for the Sunday night game. If you go to NBC.com you can watch from 3-4 different camera angles (including the wire camera)
I watched a few games from that angle this year, it really does bring a better perspective, although it wasn't fun watching Brees get man handled by Denver's D ...
