People are just saying that things could be much worse and that you shouldn't melt down over 10 win seasons.
And conversely, while 10 wins is nice, people are also saying things at LSU could be even better - with some improved coaching on offense (see: real OC), some creative schemes, some better coaching of our skill positions, and just a little bit of tweaking here and there. Stating this does not mean anybody has an inferiority complex. Stating this means somebody's ego is healthy enough to stand against the withering criticisms those who are afraid to state the obvious level at them. Such as what you said to BeeFense5...

The name-calling along these threads is, at best, childish.

The only thing I learned in this thread is that Vanderbilt is a better program than LSU.

Who would have thunk it?

So how about this: the fact 5 other teams in the SEC have won at least 11 games* with two of those teams winning 12+ while we won 10.

The SEC has the most 10 wins teams in its conference.

Must be REAL hard to win 10 games in the SEC.

yes the SEC is very top heavy this year. now you're making a good point.

did anyone else in the SEC play the equivalent of the combo of Bama, UF, and USC?

maybe UF for the combo of us, usc, and UGA. point being, the ones who showed up in ATL had the easiest rides.

or that LSU played 5 top 20 teams in a row and was the only team besides texas tech to do so.

Recruiting class ranking is a bit of shamanism but I took a look at Rivals for LSU:
2005 - 22
2006 - 7
2007 - 4
2008 - 11
2009 - 2
2010 - 6
2011 - 6
2012 - 18

Good recruiting but the usual suspects have done as well or better. UA/tOSU/FSU/UT (Longhorn type).

Never said LSU's schedule wasn't difficult. But that's not gonna change, so it's going to be hard expect more than 10 wins under Miles from here on out.

Did the LSU talent on the field 12-31-12 really look superior to you?
I saw a <50% QB, lethargic routes and late DBs. None of these guys are real matchup headaches for anyone, save maybe Landry and the odd play he isn't overthrown.
Get off your high horse.

Not on one. But thank you for making my point about the coaching. Either the coaches don't recruit as well as the sunshine pumpers assert, or they don't develop the recruits which leads to poor performance. It all goes back to coaching, fool.

Sure hope you aren't a defense attorney.

or any team that would have to play that schedule. you think we lose miles and automatically become undefeated every year?

i dont expect us to be undefeated every year (although it would be nice).
I do expect LSU to play every game at a highly competitive level, regardless of the outcome (as we did v. Bama this year). I'm weary of seeing a talented team struggle against the likes of Towson and (2012) Auburn, Arky, Clemson.

The one constant with LSU the past 5 yrs has been poor QB play. Hopefully Retting and Jennings can be the answer by 2014.

If LSU had Boyd,They crush Clemson regardless of OC.

Wanting him fired is idiotic. Wanting him to hire an OC and let the OC run his offense isn't. Roger says it all the time and I agree 100%....Miles should be the CEO.

this is reasonable and what should happen. les can recruit and run special teams and manage the day to day things but he needs a real oc that can develop our talent and call the game by himself.

I'm just arguing stupid points people are trying to make. I'm sure it's coming off as taking up for Miles, but I'm not. But when you bring up flawed points to try to fit an agenda, it drives me insane.

using your argument....the best coaches in the country should have nothing but all-americans on their team...either by recruiting or development.

sometimes players don't pan out. it happens to the best coaches.

Why are you hating on Mett? He played much better over the second half of the season. Given more DEVELOPMENT sooner, he would have been better earlier obviously.

You are correct sir. I don't know if we would have beaten florida or bama but Mett would have been a better QB this year with more play time last year.

The real pain in my arse is that we did not have a reason to not play him in multiple games last year.

I don't expect LSU to have the best talent every season. But I do expect the Coach to develop and use his recruits in a manner where we don't lose to an underranked ACC opponent or play close games against rent-a-wins like Towson or lesser conference opponents.

Recruit a ridiculously high caliber of athletes then get killed for not turning that talent into 13-0 teams.

Yup. Truth is though that Florida and Bama are recruiting the same calibur players every year that we are, but according to the rant we should never lose to them. Law of averages says we will half the time.

The truth is,
We just look bad out there offensively.

Not saying we are the most talented team in the country, but I see a lot of teams that are definitely less talented perform better offensively

And,
Recruiting players is definitely a key to success,

but one also needs to recruit a good coaching staff for success as well

Les needs to recruit an offensive coordinator
