Recruit a ridiculously high caliber of athletes then get killed for not turning that talent into 13-0 teams. Its as if the recruiting actually goes against him.

The consensus topic seems to be that Miles doesn't do enough with the players he has. Its as if Miles is just given the recruits and gets ZERO credit for them. I agree our offense has problems and needs to change. But lets not act like he's Zook or Orgeron that does absolutely nothing with the talent they brought in.

I actually think he would get less flack if he had the same record but did it with better coaching and worse recruiting.

What's ridiculous is the notion that lsu has the best talent every year that rantards keep spewing. That's not even close to true. Is lsu talented? Yes. Are they in a class by themselves? Not even close.

People will find any way to discredit miles. This is a popular way.

Works for Snyder at K-State; however it's all about the system/scheme the players are put into. Even the best prospects will not thrive in the wrong system.

I am never one to complain about coaching, but something needs to be done offensively to make sure that the offensive talent we recruit can succeed.

I've always been on the train of thought that LSU has great talent, but it isn't like we are an NFL team and everyone else is playing with HS kids.

Most people that don't like Miles and think he vastly underachieves do so because they vastly OVERestimate our talent advantage over everyone else.

Hell, just look at the recruiting rankings. Have we EVER had a #1 class???

I know rankings aren't perfect, and of course we recruit as well as anyone, but it's pretty clear teams like Bama, Florida, Texas, OU, FSU, USC, Oregon, Ohio State, and Georgia recruit AT LEAST as well as we do, and we win more than all of them do except Bam-ulligan.

And programs like Auburn, A&M, Tenn, USCe, Clemson, Michigan, Ole Miss aren't that far behind us.

Football is a fricking competitive sport, and the best team doesn't always win. This is true at every single level in every single sport.

Teams don't have to have the same level of talent or coaching to win on any given day, and just because the favorite doesn't win over cover the spread it doesn't mean the coaches suck or the players weren't prepared.

Sometimes things don't according to plan.

THAT'S WHY THEY PLAY THE DAMN GAMES.

Miles does get credit for recruiting top talent, but with the talent he gets, he has proven over and over again he can't manage the clock and blows games that, with the talent level, he shouldnt.

He deserves any criticism he get's, as does any coach. They're paid alot of money and fans everywhere want results.

how's that moron?

You can't see that LSU fans think LSU has more talent that every team in America? So LSU fans think LSU should win everytime by 20 or so and if they don't it's Miles fault cause he "can't coach up all that talent"?

put it this way. LSU's talent is 6ft tall in reality. Clemson's talent was 5ft 11in tall in reality. inch difference....trying to put this so the IQ challenged can understand

that one inch is nothing in difference is my point. LSU fans think the LSU "talent pole" is 14 ft tall when in reality it's fraction's of inches better or worse than 20 other schools

I am waiting for a thread about how we have another 10 win season. 20 of the top 25 teams in the BCS standings had a 10 win season. Seems pretty common now.

Why would they need to go there when they can say LSU won a NC under Miles, played for another one last year and was very close to representing the SECW and playing UGA for NC game appearance again this year.

Question, BeeFense5:

Do you think our offensive talent is not good enough to rank higher than 76th this season?

Would not have those 10 win seasons without the exeptional recruits. I just wonder how much longer he can keep recruiting like he does. I know if I am a top prospect right now I would not be so keen on LSU, especially if I play offense.

whats even more ridiculous is how the Miles defenders will credit him for his skill at recruiting top talent, but then claim the talent level isn't what its hyped to be.

Well which is it? Does LSU recruit talent or not? Does it not develop its talent? does it use its talent incorrectly?

Regardless, its all on the Coach(s). What part of this do you sunshine pumpers not understand?

I don't expect LSU to have the best talent every season. But I do expect the Coach to develop and use his recruits in a manner where we don't lose to an underranked ACC opponent or play close games against rent-a-wins like Towson or lesser conference opponents.

for years I have said that the mark of a great coach, is to use the athletes he has to the best of their abilities, as opposed to forcing those athletes to do things they can not do.

Lsu is going to bring in back to back top 5 classes. The doom and gloom recruiting hopes of some are just going to have to keep waiting like the previous 7 years.
