Looking for something different to start with. Possibly uptown?

We are starting about noon. We are small plating and drinking all day with a group of friends No more than 1-2 beers/drinks per stop. We are ending the evening at SoBou and Davenport lounge.

Any suggestions for a good/lively place to do apps/drinks casual or dressy doesn't matter.

Luke happy hour oysters and Borgne Crawfish croquettas are on the list as probable stops.

Oh and no Boucherie. Good but not this time.

La Petit Grocery
Bougliginy (although, I'm not a huge fan, it fits your bill)
Stop into Casementos and get some oysters at the bar

Went there a couple of months ago for the first time. Nice meal.

Never heard of this place. Looks nice. What's the problem?

Luke is across the street from the hotel, so we'll probably check in after the first round and walk over to Luke for half off at some point. Luke had some great Blue Points last time in.

Closed next Friday for private party. Unfortunately my company isn't the one renting it out.

Never had anything I didn't like. They have outside seating too.

The bar at Clancy's would be perfect. Sweetbreads, shrimp remoulade, oysters and brie and crab salad would be my picks. Great selection of Scotch and Bourbon.

Nothing really specific. Food's much better next door, for some reason (same kitchen). It's also just got a vibe that I don't always dig.

It's certainly a nice place though, and not the type of place I'd ever scoff at about hitting with a group, while going to other places.

That looks good. It looks like it might be a little more subdued than we might be looking for?

The bar is separate from the restaurant and outside of the high-tops against the window I think you all could control the vibe pretty easily.

I can see uptown might be a 2 stop trip before heading downtown .

I'll try to do some picture documenting along the way. I have a feeling I might crap out at some point though

Went to Bouligny last night. The spinach gnudi and marrow were very good. The pate with hushpuppies and tomato jam was ...not.

Is Baru still a BYOB with an $8 corkage fee per bottle? Would be worth knowing since the OP is looking to drink as well as eat.

Also, Coquette is aways solid for this type of night out.
