Caribou Crossing is all I really have for you if you in Canadian Whiskey if you want a big upgrade. Much better than Crown. For the money though, I would say screw Crown and get 40 Creek or Canadian Club.

Found a place in Mississippi that has some Elmer T Lee. My buddy works right around the store so I'm going to have him grab me a few bottles. Excited to try it. The only thing that worries me is the lady said they can't give prices over the phone What should I be looking at paying? She said it wasn't anything outrageous.

Yeah, I was hoping $25-40. I just want to give it a try because it's in my range and gets some solid reviews.

ETA: Anything else I should try to pursue so that can be readily found? Looking to stay in that mid range.

In that price range... I'd go with EH Taylor small batch, 4R single barrel, 4R small batch, Elijah Craig 12, weller 12, weller 107, Eagle rare.

Elijah Craig 12, Buffalo Trace, Four Roses Single Barrel and Small Batch, Eagle Rare, Weller 12 and Old Weller Antique 107, EH Taylor Small Batch, George Dickel Barrel Select, Rowan's Creek, and the list is endless in that price range.

There you go. UJ and I pretty much had matching lists and were typing at the same time. Start with those and go from there.

On a side note: Found a bottle of RHF today for $45.00. Last bottle in stock and they are holding it for me until I can make it over there to pick it up.

Thanks guys

I have had the EC12, ER10, BT, and 4Roses single barrel. Enjoyed them all. May try to 107 with the elmer. I think most if not all are pretty readily available?

If you can find the Weller 12 and 107, keep half of each bottle separate and mix the other half of each together to make a 50/50 mix of Poor Man's Pappy. Good stuff. Also, Russell's Reserve is pretty good in that price range.

Noticed a good bit of you guys (& gals as to not discriminate) are from the Lafayette/Broussard area. I'm heading that way tomorrow for work and was wondering if there were any places you wouldn't mind pointing me toward that I should check out on the way from New Orleans? Not expecting any unicorns just some things I can't grab at my local place like Weller 12 or some barrel select stuff. Also if anyone is interested my local place got some Weller 107 for me and have a few bottles left last time I checked.

I'm waiting for a special occasion to open a few goodies also. I was planning on it for my son's birth but never had the chance because of complications after with mom. It's time for a birthday or something to roll around
