Does anyone else think that it will be better than 2011's?

Faulk 6'6 325
Blackwell 6'4 290
Lonergan 6'4 305
Williford 6'7 324 / T-bob 6'3 304
Hurst 6'6 340

vs.

Faulk 6'6 323
Williford 6'7 332 / Turner 6'3 306
Porter 6'4 300
Collins 6'5 321
Alexander 6'6 350

backups

Fehoka 6'6 360
Davenport 6'4 330
Austin 6'6 329
Edinbourgh 6'8 316
Evan Washington 6'6 324

I think this will be one of the strongest olines that i've ever seen at lsu. Championships are won in the trenches.

The fact that the backups got plenty of reps will help us tremendously for the next 2 years. I actually think the younger kids did a fantastic job, as inconsistent as they were.

Yes because Turner, Alexander and Collins are better than T-Bob, Hurst and Blackwell. Williford becomes the utility lineman. I think Boutte gets in the mix as well.

Next year's line would unquestionably be better if Faulk comes back 100%.

Don't forget about Jerald Hawkins, 6-6, 300 lbs. Could be in the two-deep at one of the tackle spots. Coaches seem to be high on him.

Also, Pocic is an early enrollee and might be good enough to work his way into the two-deep as well.

The only real concern is Porter replacing Lonergan who can be argued as our most reliable OL. Every other position gains another year of experience and Alexander seems to be an upgrade over Hurst who was second team All-American. If everyone stays healthy, this may be a top 3 offensive line in the country.

On a side note, did anyone notice the AFCA All American oline picks? Pay attention to the lack of giant tubbies........it's about athleticism and talent.

Whoever is backup out of Turner and Williford will be first off the bench at either guard position. Fehoka sat out football this year so I doubt he will make the two deep unless he is something special. Hawkins will be the back up at LT and the next great one after Faulk leaves. It will be interesting who the backup to Porter is. I am guessing Washington or Austin here.

I think we'll actually be better next year. Faulk is back and Turner/Alexander will improve even more. I also like Porter at center. I think he could end up being what Pouncey was for florida.

Williford is toast; Turner was a huge upgrade. Alexander was better than Hurst but has to work on getting his knees bent especially in pass protection.

OP says championships are won in the trenches but while the O-Line should be better next year (this was a weird one for moving players in and out of the lineup) do any of us expect the D-Line to be improved?

Next years line is better if you only consider that Turner, Alexander,& Collins all did great this year PLUS gained an entire season of experience.
That Fehoka is supposed to be very athletic for his size, LSU didnt give up on chasing him and waited till he got his grades worked out.

If Mett can continue to build on what he has done the latter part of the season, our Off. will be our strength next season.
