Both Buss and Kupchieck agreed that Dantoni was the coach for the job with this roster.

This is Phil Jackson we are talking about.

Of course they did. With what Phil wanted, can't blame them though, d'antoni may be a better fit long term anyway.

Wasn't Brown the coach last year?

Yes, but they didn't run the Princeton offense last season. It was implemented this off season.

This way, at least they'll score some points.

They have the 7th best offensive efficiency at 103 points. Their offense has been pretty good, and Kobe looked great in the Princeton offense. The issues have been defensively. They better hope D'Antoni can find a good defensive assistant, like last season when he had Woodson in NY.

They need to be honest and just say "We didn't want to give Phil the moon and the stars."

Saying D'antoni is a better fit is a joke.

Such a great gif

Does anybody else envision Jim Buss pushing D'Antoni over Phil just to spite Jeanie, who most people seem to agree is the sharper mind of the two? Lakers must be such a soap opera behind the scenes.

No Phil, watch the mob closely ring D'Antoni's neck if they don't make it to the Championship.

Terrible decision by the Lakers
