Does it look like Miles has backed out of play calling?

Maybe he has finally decided to let his coaches coach. What do you think?

either that or he grew a pair of balls

Well he cant be the one making good calls. He only makes shitty calls. All the plays that didn't work last night = Les, all the ones that did = anyone else.

if anything, it "appears" that Miles has gotten more involved on the sidelines in play-calling the last two weeks.
For those that have watched the replays, you know what I'm talking about.
Miles is definitely more involved in the offense recently.

it's pretty obvious he was never involved more than any other head coach in the nation
man the ignorance around here is astounding

I love how whenever the Offense is clicking everyone assumes Miles backed out of play calling

Our offense improved because our WRs, O-line, and QB all have improved. That leads to being able to call better plays and more production.
There wasn't just some magical play calling switch that was flipped.

a couple of thoughts to consider...
- first time starting qb more experienced in 9th game of the year
- o-line gelling with 3 replacements having several games under their belt
- receivers catching the ball
those factors will allow the offense to open up.
Or we could just blame Miles interfering when things go bad and letting the coaches coach when they go good...either way you want to look at it is fine

I think it's more of Miles having the pulse of his team and knowing when to turn Mett loose
He tried to turn him loose early in the year and it didn't work - the oline mix match and the WR play didn't help so he went back to the run game
The WR's are playing a lot better now than at the beg of the year
The injury to Faulk really hurt the oline and until Turner and Alexander stabilized it, it wasn't fun to watch

His interview after the game was strange. He was very loud about Coach Stud and gave him a lot of praise. It just stood out to me the way he said it and how he said it.

He may not be more or less involved but something has changed with the play calling. We are mixing it up on first and second down with play action which I was screaming for at the begging of the season. Miles seems to have confidence in mett and our wideouts now which has made all the difference in the play calling

It's pretty obvious what he's done with the team this year. Fans don't want to recognize it, but this is essentially a regrouping year for us. We've played 15 true freshmen this year, and several other RS freshmen and sophomores. The play calling this year has been conservative, most likely in an attempt to let Mettenberger get used to the offense, and get used to SEC defenses. Now that he's seen that Mett is more comfortable, he's opening it up more, as well as letting Mett check more at the line. (I should say they, not he. He's a former o-line coach... of course he's going to be involved in offensive calls, just like former D coaches that are now HC stay involved in defensive calls).

So it took five frickin' years to get an offense loaded with talent to perform to their level? Les has been running this offense,it is his style of football, the way he was taught.

I don't think he or coaches knew what they had in the Bama game as far a Mett was concerned. Sure wish they would have let him try and win it in the end. Mett is looking as advertised.

Looks like to me that Les is finally in total control of his offense

I think he's become more involved and less involved simultaneously.
