Little bit of a bad hop killed it by inches.

Probably would have won the game.

Congrats, I've never seen it called a "Fake" KO. See something new everyday.

Hairston had it played perfectly. Just took a bad bounce

Call it what you like, it was a good call. Just didn't get the right bounce, by a few inches.

Didn't hurt, but wouldnt have helped. Too big a risk with the momentum the team had at the time. LSU got the ball back anyway.

why the need to recover the kick a yard early? no tide within five yards of Hairston and the ball

Hairston didn't go for the ball early. The ball went for him

This was a risky call to be sure but it was obviously well scouted because it should have been an easy cover.

Bad bounce or whatever it was just not executed well enough to be successful.

I liked the call. Not much different than what Sean Payton did in the freaking Super Bowl and he was glorified for it. Saints just got a better bounce.

It didn't actually end up mattering. But yeah it was like half a yard from working.

I disagree. Would have been the same. We wound up getting the ball back after a Bama fumble. If you trust your defense enough to set up a long field goal at the end of the game, why do you go for the onside kick there?

It was a cheap play that would have been good if it worked and we were lucky the game wasn't over when it didn't.

It took a very bad bounce. Saban had a secret remote control installed and bug eyes operated it on the sideline.
