I was gonna pull the trigger on a couple of 6 gallon Better Bottles. But I read the reviews and it appears the bottoms split on them after a few years.

Few years?

Not worried. I like my Better Bottles a lot. Hopefully I'll never have the privilege of posting one of those gruesome 25 stitches across the top of my foot photos from dropping a glass carboy.

I've only broken one glass carboy... no stitches required!

I would probably go for a better bottle if I need to buy more.

Since there is already a homebrewing themed thread I might as well post in here.

Doing some emergency brewing this afternoon/evening at a friends house. Need a beer for next Thursday, so going to get it done tonight around having to work from 6-630.

I know the hops you want but what kind of beer are you making?

Well, it's a proven winner!

I know it's not what you were going for, which is a shame because that first batch of sour saison was phenomenal.

Ugh, I have 10 gallons of a beer that is terrible.

I may save 5 gallons of it and put it away for a while to see if it gets better. But I doubt it will

And after hearing the brewer from Karbach speak over the weekend I am confident I can get this beer done by next Thursday. He was talking about if you pitch the right amount of yeast that a standard ale (1060) should ferment out in 4 days.

I wouldn't doubt it. Make sure you've got a blow off rigged well.

We are brewing 10 gallons and using 2 carboys. Beer should come out around 1061 and I aim using 3 packets of s05. Thinking about going to buy a 4th.

Congrats again Frat and Boo. I checked out the Dixie Cup website last night and they have all the results posted. Who are the Foam Rangers group?

Yeah, David Rogers specifically. Props to him. That's impressive.

I believe he alone would have beaten all the other clubs. To say that he and the Foam Rangers dominated would be an understatement.
