No. He didn't say he was dead until this episode.
In "Q&A" when he was talking to Carrie he listed all of the Al Qaeda contacts he had, he mentioned the bomb maker in Gettysburg, then said "all dead". Maybe he didn't say the name Bassel I'll have to rewatch.

You know what gets me? Frickin Carrie. Has to be the most unstable piece of pussy on the planet. Frickin crying emotional mess. There is no way she'd ever get hired by the CIA, much less manager of a Burger King. Frickin loon, man.
I think Carrie is great. She comes off as this unstable emotional mess but there's a good chance she is just trying to play Brody.

Yeah....there is also no way they would have left themselves that vulnerable too at a known terrorist cell hang out.

How long has it been since Brody killed the bomb maker? I would assume they would try and get in there almost immediately after finding out Brody killed him. By they I mean the terrorists. Not a big deal tho IMO. Them running in the store in full SWAT gear in the middle of the day is probably the most Hollywood thing the show has done. Once again, I don't think that's a huge deal tho. I dont particularly care how realistic the show is.

So Galvez is dead right? I guess that counts him out as the mole. Not sure if that is conclusive. He got hit and went down. Carrie said they had casualties, but casualties don't necessarily mean death, right?

I would say Galvez is dead. In the teaser for the next episode they said 6 were dead- I'm assuming the 7th was Quinn.

too much of a set-up episode - which I realize every series needs - but the first time I feel like they just mailed it in

Nah Brody is cracking up Carrie is falling in love all over again Saul is losing his edge Estes is walden's hatchet man And it is very interesting that Roma looks out of sorts at the same time galvez is dying in the hospital Did anyone catch where Saul said he moved to Lebanon after his wife left but he came back? That was interesting.... One thing that has bothered me, if Saul or Galvez knew Estes safe combination then why send in Brody to open it and risk getting caught? They could have just gone in themselves. I think Estes set up Brody in his office as a test for Brody. But to what end? Why would Estes need Brody around? The only thing I can think of is Estes wants Brody to take out walden or at least try to and then Estes can take out Brody and be a hero

I noticed that as well, I just chalked it up to him intentionally lying to get her to trust him more

you're going off the assumption that Estes &/or Galvez are dirty. Then, testing Brody would make the most sense, to see how loyal he is. But, this isn't "24" - there's no reason to think that there are layers of double and triple agents, we're just used to seeing it on TV shows more and more. I'm not willing to make any jumps just yet

How did Carrie know about the hit and run? is Brodie wearing a wire full time? It is obvious that the girl is going to go public somehow. I bet she puts it on the internet or something stupid.. pissing off the Arab world that one of theirs was killed by a public officials' daughter then swept under the rug.

I think the VP told Estes, and that info reached Carrie.

Saul worked in Lebanon at the Beirut CIA station. Estes is tied to Walden and supports him because Walden can help him achieve his political aspirations. The fact that we still don't know the nameless terrorist (that Aileen didn't ID) leads me to believe it's Abu Nasir's older son. There's a reason why 2 episodes have passed and no one knows who he is.

What do we know about this? How much older and how long ago was the drone strike that killed the younger son. Maybe he's not dead...

speaking of dead. What are the odds Brody dies? Carrie saying to Mike "you need to be there for her and the kids" and "I hope you get what you want"

Just a theory - I figured since they are keeping his identity a secret he's related to Nasir (ie someone loyal Nasir is calling in to expedite the process).
