I just saw your epic post about cooking that shite..

I'd be willing to bet all of the money I have (not much) that the cheap arse Great Value spaghetti sauce from wal mart tastes like something wolfgang puck served up after eating that sketti sauce.

That's not uncommon. People add sugar to sauce to cut the acidity of the tomatoes. Monjuni's probably uses a ton of sugar in their signature sauce (a sauce I really like even though I was never brought up on sweet red sauces) but they also don't use ketchup in butter to make their sauce.

Close. Monjuni's uses grape jelly.

Not to but the Great Value chunky spaghetti sauce is actually pretty good. I would have never tried it on my own, but a friend used it in a dish, and it's pretty legit.

Honey Boo Boo wouldn't like it, though. Too many veggies, not enough BUTTER!!!!!

That reminds me of Hot Dish. A term used by people from Wisconsin. It's very simple. Look in your fridge and collect all the leftovers. Doesn't matter what it is... meat, vegetables, starches. Put them in a baking dish, cover with grated cheese and pop in the oven.

Interesting. I've tried the Great Value stuff and it works if you're pinching pennies, but I would rather Bertolli. Their sauces are the awesome.

I think their red sauce is ok, but their white sauces are pretty awful.

Alfredo is reallllyyy easy and I haven't found a jar that even comes close to fresh.

Well this is the food board so I expect nothing less than people talking about making it fresh, but I don't really care enough to take the time to make fresh sauces. Their red sauces are pretty damn good for jarred sauce.

I've never watched Jersey Shore but Honey Booboo is great. Can't wait to see Momma's next recipe.
But I am having trouble finding time to watch it since I'm getting addicted to Gangnam Style.

I have never found an alfredo sauce in a jar that was good. Red sauces that I like are Prego and Barilla

Good job. The only thing you did wrong was you used Heinz. I'm willing to bet that they're a Hunt's family.

That is so fricking typical of El Gaucho to make a pickle pie...is he still banned ??

And Zach, you should totally teach the doggies to do the Gangnam style dance.

I remember all the microwave steak topics we had a couple of months ago...a few of the posters were like "Yeah, I microwave it for 30 seconds before I cook it." Umm well microwaving for 30 seconds is completely dumb/pointless then. I would still never full on microwave cook a steak though like some posters did .
