WEST MONROE, La. (KNOE 8 News) - WEST MONROE, La. (KNOE 8 News) - Some Bawcomville homeowners on Hinton Street are on alert.
"Please help me, somebody help me," Florence Ward said.
Ward and her husband, Dave, who's disabled, don't have cars. Both say walking down the street is a little scary at times.
"I know it sounds petty that you're being attacked by a chicken," Ward said.
The couple blames "Rowdy" the rooster as being too rowdy for them.
"I think it's hilarious," Rowdy's owner said.
The rooster's handler believes the couple is causing her animal to go wild at time.
"I believe that they are provoking my chicken, when you walk up and down the street 10 plus times a day," the owner said.
One neighbor says her twelve-year-old even fell victim to one of "Rowdy's" rough ways.
"The big chicken, the brown one with the red, has been attacking my 12-year-old, he had big bruises on the inside of his leg," Amy Dowdy said.
"The homeowner recommends that all of her neighbors carry a stick with them, when walking up and down the street, in case a rooster decides to attack.
"I don't go in my front yard without a stick in my hand," Rowdy's owner said.
Dispute the "chicken crossing the street sign", the Ward's think the rooster should stay in it's own neck of the woods.
"It is not safe, as long as you cannot walk up and down the street without fear of some kind of harm coming to you," Ward said.
The frightened neighbor says she typically stays indoors as much as possible for fear of getting abused by a rooster.
"You never know when it's going to attack you."
The Ouachita Sheriff's Office says there's nothing they can do about the roaming rooster. According to Louisiana Law as long as the owner isn't using the animals to fight they're following the rules.

I think this article begs the question: WYH Rowdy's owner?

I'd be walking down the street with my machete...schwing! I bet if you put him in a dutch oven for about 4-5 hours at 250, he'd be mighty tasty.

Coq au vin. It's yummy and will take care of the rooster problem.
