Avery really screwed up, but I've have stuck with him.
I'd have probably kept Nicole over Amanda

I wouldn't have kept Nicholas. I don't huge public will keep him as long as they would have kept Mycle or whatever his name is.

Love Trevon. I got chills during his performance. He's also a nice kid. I hope his 8th grade teacher was watching.

Didn't much care between Katy Perry and Diego. Probably would have gone with Katy.

I was glad to see all the battles rather than an ff of some like they showed in the last round.

This show is painful to watch live.

I still find that the pairings really sent some good people home that would have destroyed other matchups.

Trevin should win the whole thing.

I would have picked Amanda. I feel she can do a lot more than the big chick (who sang well but I just liked Amanda better)

quote:

Cee Lo. I couldn't believe he didn't pick Avery...obviously the better singer, but he ruined it with his jumping around bullshite.

Right when he started I told my wife his song choice was shite and it turned out that way. He killed the first two rounds and threw it away because he wanted to dance. He definitely lost the battle but is the better singer IMO. So how do you award that? I think that's what CeeLo was struggling with.

quote:

Theresa and Trevin both did really well. Trevin is the right pick though. He's incredible. It's pretty cool that they both bonded and connected so well.

Agreed

I like Nicholas. I can pour myself a whiskey and have that dude rock it out all night on stage in a small club. Dude's got soul.

quote:

Katelyn and Diego. I don't really like either one of them, but I guess I'd have picked Katelyn. I don't think Diego is gonna do very well in the live rounds.

By far the worst matchup all night. I would have gone Katelyn as well as she picked an extremely difficult song and did alright with it. Diego is just not that good either

He ran into a good singer who made a great song choice, while he did the exact opposite. You can't dance around to a Chris Brown song and expect to win... dumb. Picking "Jolene" was brilliant and he pulled it off, even though Avery might have had a better chance going forward he got smoked in that matchup.

I noticed her eyes looked just like Katy Perry as well, but I wouldn't have gone with her because she chose a song that was absolutely zero "risk" and did it karaoke-style. Great karaoke, but that's not what they want. That was a matchup where I felt both of them should have not been in the top 5 from Cee-Lo's team, especially not ahead of Mycle, Terisa, or Avery.

Oh, and I already am sick of Melanie Martinez... her voice was cool when she did Toxic but after hearing her a few more times there's no chance in hell I'd buy her album. I'd turn it off after two songs.

But what did Diego do in that regard then?

She's this season's Rae Lynn for me. A "stylistic" singer that gets old quickly.

Nothing really. It was a lame matchup... I'd have gone with him as well but like I said they were two of the worst 3 on Cee-Lo's team as far as I was concerned.

Agreed with that but I thought the girl did a decent job on a hard song even if it was karaoke. Diego did a bad karaoke job on a not too difficult song. Neither one would advance past the next round anyway

Yeah... it was just so unsurprising... so the dark goth girl is going to sing Evanescence? REALLY?! It showed zero creativity or artistry... not saying Diego was any better, I think he should have lost his battle against JR, but her song choice turned me off from the start.

RE: the Loren and Nicole round. Loren was mesmerizing, but Nicole's voice is so smooth and incredibly pure sounding. I like them equally, but for different reasons. Was sorry to see Nicole go.

I thought there were some really bad song choices over all, like Mean and Call Me, Mayb

I always find it odd that the coaches pair up some of their stronger singers. The coaches know who are the top and bottom feeders at this point, and they even know who they expect to do well in live rounds, or even who they want to see continue on. It shouldn't be hard to keep your best singers around. And don't give me the you wanted a competitive battle so you paired 2 talented people together.

Well, like one of them (Adam maybe?) said last night...he pairs similar singers together because they try to have as diverse of a team as possible going into the live rounds. They want to appeal to the most people possible. It's a way to sort of hedge their bets and do better in the finals. It's smart, even if you do have to pair two great (and similar) singers in the elimination round.

As soon as they showed him rehearsing with Cee Lo and jumping all over the place, I knew he was gonna suck. He sounded bad in rehearsals just like in the actual performance. And the song he chose sucked too...definitely didn't allow his voice to shine. I feel like he just picked a song that he liked and could move to instead of being smart and singing his arse off (which is what this show is about). Shame on Cee Lo for not coaching him better when it was obvious he was gonna struggle.

I still thought CL was gonna pick him though, just because he's so talented.

He does. I hope he can connect with America and get some votes, because he's good. I just don't know if that will happen.

I agree that she can get old sometimes, but she is actually talented, so she's nothing like RaeLynn. That chick sucked. Hard.

I agree with Adam in that in this round what I am wanting to see most is someone that can break out of their comfort zone and do something a bit different. With that, I really liked Mackenzie's rendition of Call Me. It was unique and well done.

Cody's "Jolene" (what I am calling "The Brokeback Performance") was really great and it hopefully taught Avery a lesson about sticking with the date that brought you to the dance (weak pun intended).

Nicholas David... When I look at him I think "real-life muppet", but damn can the man sing! He's fun to listen to and watch. He has a very unique sound and it's a shame he and Treyvon are on the same team because I would like to see them both in the finals.

While I know I said I like seeing people break out, I think Caitlin Michelle's performance was head and shoulders above Diego's. My prediction is that he's gone next round.

Treyon... 'nuff said.

And since I haven't posted since prior to the show it happened in, I'm glad "D-to-the-O-to-the-M-to-the-O" is G-to-the-O-to-the-N-to-the-E. Keep that egotistical shite off the show, we only need one Xtina.
