Is the next one the final or is there more after? I need to catch up on the news.

2 more scheduled to be released. Though many feel he can't wrap it up in two books. Unlikely he will live to finish 2 more. Almost impossible he lives to finish 3 more. Winds of Winter is next. Dream of Spring is supposed to be the next and final.

Ramsey Bolton = What Jon Snow could have been if he was an evil SOB

This has probably been brought up before

Ya know, I actually thinks Roose hates Ramsay. From the way they describe Domeric he sounded like a awesome dude. Even though Roose knows Ramsay poisoned him, Roose knows his house would die if he executed Ramsay.Which is why he puts up with his shite.

Oh, and another theory about all that went on around the Sack of Winterfell, Ramsay did it on his own without instruction from anybody to impress his father.

There is no way that Tyrion will be alive at the end. However, since this is the character that GRRM has personally identified with, I would expect him to live to the bitter end.

My guess is that he may be the very last character to die, and/or the very last POV in the series. As GRRM ends his time with ASOIAF, so goes Tyrion .

It wouldn't surprise me one bit if he survived dragons, the upcoming wars, and his sister, only to be killed by a whore.

I think one Lannister has to be Lord of Casterly Rock, and Jaime certainly doesn't want it, Cersei doesn't deserve it and is prophesized to die, so I think that leaves Tyrion. I think after all the hell Tyrion has gone through, he deserves some sort of happy ending. Plus out of the frontrunners for the Iron Throne, I think he would be the most likely choice of Hand of the King for all of them.

Kinda how I see Jaime as the Anti-Ned Stark, Ramsay Bolton is the Anti-Jon Snow.

I don't see what is so opposite about them. The Mountain is just a wild animal, while Brienne is a wench gifted with the sword.

I've explained it earlier on in the thread, but I don't see it as necessarily a bad thing that Jaime is the anti-Ned Stark. I'll create bullet points on them being opposite in many ways.

Ned: Honorable to a fault to where the only thing he sees more important is family, afraid of getting blood on his hands, patient, reserved, respected, known as being honorable, easily manipulated, comforting.

Jaime: Sees his duty more important than family, doesn't give a damn about doing horrifying acts for his own sustenance, willing to do the greater good at the end despite the means, sees the hypocrisy in honor, cocky, arrogant, impatient, reviled, seen as having shite for honor, manipulative, somewhat cruel.

I think just about every major character either dies or is no longer anything like their original self (i.e. Bran , Arya, and maybe even Jon in tWoW).

Valar Morghulis

Definately do not see things like Tyrion as Lord of Casterly Rock AND Jon as Lord of Winterfell AND Sansa happily married, etc. Although, one or two of those types of "happy" endings may occur.

And all of the characters on this list are dying, dead, or to be dead:

quote:

Ser Gregor, Dunsen, Raff the sweetling, Ser Ilyn, Ser Meryn, Queen Cersei, valar morghulis

I see Sansa dying to be honest. "The Lone Wolf dies while the pack survives."
