I don't know that she literally dies, but maybe figuratively when it comes to her family/the Stark name. Especially since Lady has been dead for awhile now.

I'm happy to report Sunday's premiere is outstanding, a globe-spinning, breast-baring, bug-stabbing blast that nimbly reminds us where we've been while hinting at big things to come.

I hope he is the one doing the bug stabbing. I have not seen his pic in the cast for the new season.

It's Ian McIlhenny, but he will not be Arstan, just barristan. He will be a hooded figure and we wont see his face for a while, then once he kills the scorpion, he will remove his hood, we'll see Jorah's eyes get big, and bam! Barristan Selmy at your service

Or the magical beard that kept Jorah from recognizing him in the books.

Your version would be awesome, but what about Jorah and Selmy taking the city (forget which one)

Sansa is Little Finger's vessel to the Iron Throne...I can visualize a scenario where a Stark will need to take her out for the "real" claim to be made...

I have a hard time with the idea that LF's ultimate goal is to sit on the Iron Throne, or even to control the person sitting there.

Let's go back just a little (sic) bit: LF was on the small council, as Master of Coin no less, and was the top contender to be the next Hand of the King. He was already in perfect position if the Iron Throne was his ultimate goal. I just don't see GRRM putting LF back in that position, as his story arch would have to come back to where it started.

LF is so hard to put a finger (sic) on. I honestly have no idea where GRRM wants to go with this character. He seems to be creating chaos simply to create chaos.

I don't get LF's motives either. Sometimes I suspect he's an agent for some other faction but I don't know who it could be.

The Iron Bank?

Is there any reason to think the Others employ human proxies?

Littlefinger wants to frick the Kingdom in the arse and have all the ruling families know that in the end he rose higher and outsmarted them all. Hand of the King doesn't really do this, since the one before Arryn was a pyromancer for God's sake, and he'd still have to answer to the king. All Littlefinger wants is to watch the world burn. This is from the tv series, but I think it does reveal what his overall goal is.

Littlefinger: "You know what I learnt losing that duel? I learnt that I'll never win. Not that way. That's their game, their rules. I'm not going to fight them: I'm going to frick them. That's what I know, that's what I am, and only by admitting what we are can we get what we want."
Ros: "And what do you want?"
Littlefinger: "Oh, everything, my dear. Everything there is."

Exactly. He has no end goal except chaos and keeping himself alive. And getting incredibly wealthy in the process.

Yeah... I don't see LF actually sitting the throne but to control it.

I see him as the adversary to Viserys... Viserys has his pawns and LF has his.

I'm thinking the final book ones down to a three way matchup between Varys, Littlefinger, and Tyrion.

The three best players of "the game". Makes a lot of sense to me.

Littlefinger wanted and still wants the love and affection of a certain woman who married a certain man who had his certain head removed by a certain sociopathic child born of incest.

More than anything, in the books at least, it appears Littlefinger's main objective, main psychological drive, is to be taken seriously, to be acknowledged as an equal. He wasn't an equal as a child. He wasn't an equal in King's Landing as the Court's moneychanger. He won't be equal until he accedes to power in the form of an honored family name. He now has the Vale, or is at least in the process of it. He's starting to acquire the lands necessary to be reckoned with.

He doesn't want to watch the world burn. He wants the world to bow before him and acknowledge him as every bit as good and powerful and strong as Brandon Stark.

That's my take, anyway.

That will never happen. It is like comparing Endymion to Comus.

I didn't say his deep seeded psychological drive was terribly logical. I just said that's his motivation. It more than a simple Batman ripoff. He is motivated by an intense desire to be accepted into the ring of power. Why? Because the girl he loved as a child rebuked him (whether she was forced to or not) due to his status.
