What does everyone think of J Alexanders?

Just curious because I went a good bit for the prime rib when I lived in Baton Rouge. I moved from Baton Rouge about 6 yrs ago and hadn't been to one until yesterday in Kansas City for lunch. I had a prime rib sandwich and it was great. I don't remember getting anything there that I didn't like.

I like J. Alexander's a lot. Pricey, but ridiculous portions. Love their smoked salmon app, and their prime rib is my favorite in BR. Always thought their food was good.

I love the steak and fries. I do steak at home now but I've been meaning to go back to J Alexanders soon.

I've never been that cuckoo about the place. Went once or twice and never wanted to go back. Maybe I ordered the wrong thkngs

Prime rib is as good as any other restaurant in BR. Smoked salmon appetizer is outstanding. I like the general atmosphere in the place. Probably one of the top chains as far as overall eating experience.

I've enjoyed it every time I've gone. The wife loves that smoked salmon app and I love their prime rib. I think I've ordered the prime rib every time I've been there and it never disappointed. Don't know too much about the rest of the menu though.

Chain or not..... Good food and service. I like the atmosphere in the joint as well.

I don't really love chains, but J Alexander's has one of the best cheeseburgers in town.
