Guess the "he can coach here as long as I'm coach here" statement wasn't such a good idea, eh JoePa?

13 years at, let's say 9 a year = 117 wins.

I did not look up anything, just an estimate.

I just wish JoePa was around to feel the loss of his wins.

Meh....this doesn't seem as bad as the death penalty.
What was the scholly reduction/number of years imposed on Alabama for the Logan Young/Albert Means case? I don't believe it was nearly as severe, and it dropped bama to middle of the road SEC for several years.

At the end of four years, PSU is going to have 60 scholarship players. If nothing else, that kills their depth. Look at Auburn and Tennessee the last couple of years when they didn't have the depth to rotate fresh players in; that killed them.

PSU will, IMHO, slowly fade and then have to slowly build back up. It will be nearly a decade before they are back to full strength in scholarship athletes.

So how does Bowden go about reclaiming the title? FSU can't exactly throw him a party now.

This is about as bad as they could have hit them without the D penalty IMO. I'm happy with it. It is much worse then I thought honestly. They will lose half their existing team to transfer probably. They are going to suck for a long time because of this. The whole program is going to sink into mediocrity. They will never be Penn St. as we remember again.

And every half-descent recruit over the next five years. We're not talking about USC who was at the top of their game when they received their sactions.

This. The idea wasn't to completely destroy Penn State athletics for all-time, the idea was to punish them long enough so they can concentrate more on getting their house in order than on whether or not they're going to make a bowl game.
