Pick who you would want, not who you think will go necessarily, to represent the US in London. Pick a 12 man roster and set the depth chart.
Carmelo Anthony

F
6-10
230
Kobe Bryant
G
6-6
205
Tyson Chandler
C
7-1
240
Anthony Davis
G (He is seriously listed as this on the US website, it may be a type-o though)
6-10
220
Kevin Durant
G (He is also listed as a guard for some reason)
6-9
235
Rudy Gay
F

215
Blake Griffin

Guards: Chris Paul, Deron Williams, Kobe Bryant, Andre Iguodala, Eric Gordon

That looks good, but I really want to go with Davis for shot blocking purposes over a player like Gay who is a less talented Lebron/Durant type.
Davis' body is nowhere near ready to play the 5 day in and day out in the NBA, but internationally he could be force against most teams except for Spain.

LBJ would play the 4 before Durant would. LBJ should be the 3 when they wanna go big playing Bosh/Love at the 4 and Chandler/Love/Bosh at the 5. When they go small Durant at 3 LBJ 4 with Bosh/Love at the 5. Going small would be the best lineup for international play but it's all about matchups. So many lineup combinations with those guys versatility it's crazy.

yeah thats just who i would pick.. i would be really happy for AD to be named on the team. I like Gay bc he can play the 2,3, or 4 with his size and skill.
Just please no Blake Griffin lol dude has NO skill at all...

Paul/Williams/Westbrook
Bryant/Iguodala
Durant/Anthony
James/Love/Bosh
Chandler/Davis
That's my guess.
If D-Rose, Dwight, and D Wade were healthy.

One of the UK guys posted this on the Rivals site today in his UK blog:
quote:
Davis, Blake Griffin and Lamar Odom were invited to work out in Durham, N.C. for Olympic coach Mike Krzyzewski next week so the staff could get extra evaluations of those players. Griffin and Odom will go, according to the report, but draft obligations (which will be held on Thursday, June 28) prevented Davis from attending.
Davis, one of 18 finalists for 12 roster spots, "is wanted for a longer look because he's the only one of the Olympic finalists from college," writes Tomasson. The other big men being considered are Chris Bosh, Tyson Chandler and Kevin Love. For Davis, who is on the fringe of the team, he misses an early opportunity to make his case for being included on the team.
The first opportunity Davis will get to work out for the staff will be July 4 in Las Vegas, one day before the official start of training camp. The 12-man roster will be finalized by July 8.

I would do without Griffin, he can't play defense and I can see him struggling with international teams
After Harden's no-show in the finals I'm weary of him too

I am really excited about this team for some reason.
It could be really special even without Dwight, Wade, and Rose.
If only we had done this in 2000 and 2004 and not dicked around

This team is absolutely stacked, it will be fun watching Durant and LeBron play together after the Finals duel they had.
I'd probably go:
Paul/Williams
Bryant/Iggy (too bad no Wade, this will put a bit of a hole at the 2-spot when Bryant is out)
Durant/Anthony
James/Love
Chandler/Bosh
ETA: Why isn't Howard playing?

the same reason he didn't play in the playoffs...
ETA: Ok, that came off dickish.
He herniated a disc in his vertebrae

I think it will be:
C: Bosh
F: Love
G: James
G: Bryant
G: Paul
I just don't know the bench as who is still in etc. I'm thinking Davis won't go but there isn't another big out there. Odom and Howard being out hurt depth upfront and doesn't allow for much wiggle room. Griffin may go just because of needing a "bigger" body.

They won in 2000 in Sydney. In 04 nobody would go citing security reasons.
