I'm surprised LSU would take him at this point. Bad knee injury last year, and he may not even get his starting spot back, because a stud freshman running back emerged for Katy last year.

Well I put him on the commitment list because I'm about to go to bed. Y'all figure it out and I'll update in the morning.

A starting spot has nothing to do with the kid's talent. You guys took Jamel James after his sophomore year and Taylor was better than James that year from a scouts view. All indications this spring is that Taylor has recovered from his injury and is performing well. You guys also just accepted Blanchard and he's always hurt and wasn't sniffing an offer from LSU. It's about each coaching staff's evaluation process. Every staff has different principles in scouting.

Thomas McGaughey and Adam Henry supposedly. But the credit goes to McGaughey on this one per Gino.

This is bullshite staff better take Adam Taylor. He can be the only RB taken in this class we need to get this done asap without all the drama its not even signing day yet

If the kid started as a sophomore at Katy he must be a stud. The last starting sophomore tailback Katy had was Andre Dean who was an Under Armour All American and went on to UCLA. Since Taylor picked us, he should develop unlike Dean Ha. I grew up in Houston and have got to say that high school is crazy about football. They put out tough nosed football players every year and Katy will have talent in the future we want so starting a recruiting network there will help.
Speaking of future talent there, whos that sophomore LB they have thats from Covington that some of you gawk over?

Word from the school is that he committed. Good running back with good work ethic. Not sure if he's elite. Their offensive lines are 2nd to none which is one reason the freshman that replaced him last year did so well.
Their line will be better this year.

Also again brings to the forefront the dangers of giving baseless offers. I understand the noncommitable offer and the reasons behind them but coaches have to fully vet these kids and their wants before just spouting off baseless offers and having kids ready to pounce on them and having to give the kid the disapointing news that they aren't accepting their commitment at this time. Bad business imo and can lead to horrible misunderstandings and bad feelings from the recruit. If you go see a kid in the spring and tell him you're offering then you damn well better accept the kids commitment or know that the kid isn't going to jump on the offer. I don't like this practice at all. Greatly devalues the offer.
I couldn't agree with you more, and I couldn't have said it better.
Now, I think I may decide to trust Gino on this one. How could two sources from LSU be wrong? However, it is puzzling to me that none of the other sites are confirming yet.

Not that they'll tell the complete truth but perception is fact in most cases.

Who's that sophomore LB from Covington
West Monroe, then Covington...Jake Blomstrom. Over 100 tackles as a sophomore this year. 6'3" 230lbs.

I think I asked this in another thread, but I'll ask again. Would he commit to LSU if offered?

I haven't seen him in a few years. He was always a Texas fan as well as LSU. His family is from Texas. I know Oklahoma is going after him hard. I would hope he'd be an auto commit, but I can't guarantee anything.

So there have been 2 guys try to commit this week and couldn't

sounds like he may be able to supplant Ace Foyil as the best Northshore LB in 20 years
