Count - 6.50 lb is not accurate. For the record our garlic pork sausage is 5.64/lb, pure pork 5.59 lb, mixed beef and pork is 6.09/lb. If you go to the supermarket Savoys and Richard's are comparable in price and they mass produce. We smoke our sausages for 6-7 hours therefore we lose a lot of weight. Rest assure that if we charge less we can't produce the product because we don't come out. I wish the cost of meat would stop rising but unfort. that does not seem to be the case

And PB, thanks for the colorful BOOOOOOM. If you'd like, several of us can meet you at Gregs tomorrow for lunch (you pick up the tab?)

ETA: With tax = about $6 to $6.50 depending on type. BBBBBBBBBBOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMM

Gris Gris I totally agree with you on Bergeron's smoked meats. They're certainly among the best in the state.

The hub of the Boudin World is Lafayette.

eta. Greg I saw you at the Road Food Festival but you were dealing with an electrical issue and I didn't wanna interrupt. Had the boudin.. and as usual..

thanks BD. Yep, the electrical situation was not good over there . The generator was out for over two hours and they didn't have a back up. Good thing I don't have hair or I would have pulled it all out. We still did well though, and got some press out of the deal, so overall I think it went well - note to self - bring my generator as a back up

Dons doesnt deserve to be in that list with their horrible lack of consistency and large chunks of fat. Their seafood boudin and cracklins are #1 imo.

Everything else is ok. Everyone has their favorite when it comes to boudin.
