Looks like Joe is content to stay mired in mediocrity with this list.

Amaker has done alright at Harvard, but his record of getting Seton Hall and Michigan to the NCAA tourney was abysmal: 10 years with SH and UM and only 1 NCAA tourney.

It's becoming clear to me that the Administration's main emphasis isn't on winning.

I was afraid of this. But why? We have talent in the area (louisiana, Texas, etc..) good facilities. What the deal $$$?

Not sure why everyone's in such an uproar. I am 100% certain these aren't the only candidates and are not the only people that LSU has talked to and plans to talk to.

And the fact that these three names were leaked pretty much assures that the final choice will NOT be one of these three guys.

I'm not big on basketball but from the comments on here, oh crap JJ bashing reincarnated.

The article reads like the setup of making this Johnny Jones the new coach.

We still have football and baseball at least.

I'm not in Baton Rouge, but my dad said that one of the local newscasts mentioned that Collis Temple Jr. liked Amaker as a secondary candidate after Johnny Jones.

Could Amaker be a compromise candidate because of his Duke ties and because the old guard will accept for a variety of reasons?

Not a huge fan of it, but Amaker is a relentless recruiter who players seem to like playing for. His actual coaching acumen is more of his weakness.

If we were going to only look at those 3 we could have made a hire monday in time for signing day. We didnt. Therefore either theres other fish out there we are looking at OR nobody else wants the job which would be an indictment on just how bad off TJ left us.

Collis did mention him yesterday in his radio interview. Of course he has no clue what his name is. He just said "that coach up at harvard is doing nice things".

the worst part is we arent even interviewing reggie theus but instead the former reggie theus. how bad does that guy have to suck if reggie theus didnt even want to be him.

Out of those 3 Theus is the most interesting. Amaker struggled at 2 big-conference schools that had pretty good recruiting bases and basketball history. Jones. Well if he wasn't Dale's boy, he wouldn't even be an afterthought.

Theus was successful at NMSU (of course we all know what a basketball hotbed NMSU is) and struggled in the NBA. I won't hold the guy's NBA failure over him though. College is a completely different animal. I do think that if he was hired and was able to bring success to LSU, then he would be quick to move to the next "bigger" gig.

It wouldn't be the most "sexy" pick, but not the worst either.
