What about the abuse I took in SF, why don't I get some $$$ from the 49ers and NFL?

Yes. Desperate franchises must do things like this.

Yes because we all know franchises like Pittsburgh and Oakland would NEVER hit the qb or play incredibly physical.

Would like someone to call King out for facts. I would like to hear the quote he states after the Favre hit "pay me the money." On SOundfx where the guys were wired, I did hear Hargrove say Favre was done, but I never heard anyone say "pay me the money." So, I can only assume either King had a special secret hidden microphone or he is embelishing the truth to add more spice to his speculative article. You make the call...

Harrison's hit on McCoy comes to mind.

that hit is worse than anything the Saints have been accused of doing.

He was fined by the league but I bet he won his locker room pool for biggest hit. why else would he administer that kind of blow to a helpless QB? Amirite?

I love his latest column. Especially the part where it lists the highlights.

quote:

League found a hit by Saints in '09 NFC title game that should have been flagged

Like I sent in, seems like there should be more evidence of players actively trying to injure players than a single penalty.

Really??? $100??? That's like your average guy getting $1. Pretty big incentive.

Earth to Peter King ... every defensive player in the league tries to make his opponent quit, either mentally or physically, on every play. That's why they play defense. If they didn't have that mentality, they wouldn't be in the NFL.

Wow. So the Saint's knew they couldn't just play the game to win, they had to take out the leader of the better team. Shameful way to win a game, but I guess when you are a desperate franchise like the Saints you have to do whatever you can to win.

kind of like LSU against tebow?

Hows this detail...

Steve Czaban just reported the WSJ has compiled the number of cart-offs, players knocked out of the game during 09-11 Saints games. The number is....18.

Irrelevant without stats from other teams?

But I'm pretty sure they found that this is no different from other teams. I'm also pretty sure they reported that there weren't but a couple isolated incidents of egregious personal fouls..

Define "cart-off" or "knocked out of the game". Assuming a two year span, that's a player every other game ... if it's a 3 year span, that's a player every 3 games. Most games I watch have a player either carted off or sent to the sideline for the rest of the game (and I get to watch very few Saints games).

Yes its part of the issue. The NFL its admins and its officiating crews have some culpability here. If the hits were illegal in any way they should have been called. Period

Unless the Refs were paid this bounty thing was not cheating.

Rule breaking, OK but not cheating.

VOR, I believe you're a lawyer. Could you explain, in legal terminology, the difference and what makes this such a big issue?
