4 of Top 6 guys going elsewhere, granted Peters never got an offer and we got the better RB over Bourque

Why did Batistw switch from Ole Miss to Tulane?

Any chance Lathan or Charles get offers?

The rankings are so close this year behind Collins that no site can really go wrong. There is no sure #2 or 3 or 4 etc. All are very close. Do your own evaluations and rank them how you assess the talent. It will make you feel better or worse depending on your evals. I personally think the 247 list is closest to the proper order but I have differing views than they do on some kids.
Top 10 imo
Collins
Davis
Raymond
Devall
John Thomas
Louis
Dwayne Thomas
Dural
Hawkins
Bourque
Jones
Feist
Peters
Phillips
Moore
If considering Jeremy Hill, I'd have him #2

I trust our staffs evals more than any recruiting site especially rivals, who are hacks. 247 and Scout do the best job from the site standpoint.

It's hard to bring in guys when they know they have no shot at starting. We are returning a lot of players. Other schools can offer early playing time.

Out of their top 25, we got everybody we wanted, except Collins, Devall and Bourque - it hurts losing those three guys, but we'll live.
We need a surprise last minute switch/commit to make us all feel better. I'm just out of hope right now.

Those rivals rankings are terrible. I guess that's what happens when the LSU guy on your staff sucks.

Louisiana has a bullseye on it for recruiting. Every college program wants kids out of Louisiana. You've seen the same thing happen to Florida and Georgia the past few years. Now it's happening to Louisiana. I don't get why kids will pass up playing for their home state school. What does Joe McNight have to fall back on after his NFL career is over? Is he a home town hero that can get a job anywhere in Louisiana now? If I were a kid I would want to first play for my state school knowing after football I would be well thought of which always opens doors for a great job after football.
Do you think Jacob Hester can get a good job in Louisiana after pro ball? Do you think car dealerships would want to attach their name to him? How about Joe McKnight? Each recruit that leaves the state is walking out on his home state brand opportunities. Life after football will come to all recruits eventually. Only a few will earn millions in the NFL.

That is simply a stupid argument. Tell that to Bama recruits. Bama has been in the Top 3 in the nation every year for 5 years now in the consensus final recruiting rankings.

There is some truth to it.
Bama is losing a lot of starters to the NFL. Sure, they are just a deep as anyone. But, to a recruit, an open start position is a legit opportunity.
That being said, in no way do I think that Collins chose Bama because they lost more defensive starters than LSU.
Just saying that it can be a factor. One of many..
