Some people like thick or thin sliced roast beef po-boys. I personally would rather the thin. IMO, Shortstop makes the best.
What other places in the N.O. area make a thin-sliced / shaved roast beed po-boy?

My Uncle would love you for this, he's the manager there..
I prefer Parkway, then R&O, then Sammy's, then Shortstop..

Shortstop's roast beef is debris style, meaning the beef is cooked till it falls apart (or possibly it is pulled apart like pulled pork. I don't think it's sliced at all.
What makes Shotstop's RB unique, I think, is that the gravy has no thickener in it at all. It's like an au jus. Because of the thin gravy, the bread gets totally soaked and soggy.

actually clarified, apparently he's just a cook there...(assumed he was a manager due to his age and how he talks about the place.)
his name is John, not Ronnie.

Trying this place soon, I have a Groupon, plus the episode of DDD made it look really good.

Go to Rivershack during lunch if you want the best they have to offer.
The chef will usually do two or three lunch specials that are always really good.

anything they fry is not good.
their 'deli' meat po boys are decent, but anyone can make those

I've been mainlining their red beans in rice for over a year now. I'm hooked hard. Like mentioned above you got to go during lunch when the Chef is there and I've only had the beans on Monday don't know about them on other days.

Maybe dollar for dollar the worst in N.O., my only experience there was so over the top (under the bottom?) bad it is hard to explain. I was warned, so it was my fault.
Shortstop is very good, but not in the same league with Parkway. I had a RB at Mandina's that was incredible.

Don't miss the fried pickles
When they're on their game they make the best fried pickles I've ever had. Goes down perfect with a cold beer and the sauce on the table is crack.
I hear they have great daily lunch specials but I've never been
