I still like Patrick but agree he was better when it was him and Dibble instead of the Danettes.

I love Van Pelt and hate ESPN. I hope this works out for SVP and the Peacock Network

he has a radio show Max and Marcellus. I think its still going but that show is terrible

Max needs a real sidekick, Marcellus just doesn't fit in. His show in New York was the best I think the name of Max's sidekick was Gordan Damer. They need to reunite that guy with Kellerman

I'm sure he could go down to the local Claires and find Michael Holley in no time.

Van Pelt and Russilo are both great....but Russilo is the one about to really blow up. He's knowledgeable, both sports and pop culture, he has good delivery, and he is funny as hell.

While all of this is true.. SVP Show minus rusillo still works alright, SVP show minus Van Pelt with just rusillo gets old real quick.. rusillo does too much of the wild stance thing without MVP.

I don't see how someone on the radio can not be seen as cocky, and that's a constant knock on everyone around here. I'm not even talking about RR, but overall.

YOu make your living spouting your opinions. Of course you will defend those opinions and disagree with others at time. Would you prefer someone who is meek and waffles on the radio?

Also, this reminds me of when Fox Sports landed Keith Olbermann when it was launching.

Not even in the same galaxy. As long as NBC doesn't make SVP become a stiff on air, this would be a home run for NBC.

Sports fans NEED this. Just because Fox has failed, to some degree, with its disjointed region-based network, it doesn't mean this NBC thing wont work.

Only thing is the ND angle

t would greatly help but they're still a "premium" cable channel which airs too many niche sports.

This was said about ESPN in the 80's too, FWIW...

Somebody should tell NBC to air lower mid major games. I would love to watch missouri valley conference games with Creighton ect.

So, in 30 years we might see a true rival to ESPN? Can't wait for 2040 now!

Actually Max & Marcellus have been extremely successful in So Cal. Considering they're going up against Jim rome for two of their hours in Rome's home market, that says a lot.

True but ESPN didn't have an established 24/7 sports channel to compete against in the 80's. NBCSports can be successful if they get major sports on air but if it's just hockey and WAC/Mountain West athletics then it will never catch up.
