did the player also tell you why Lee wasn't getting to play? Is that what you mean about the rest of the story? because the players wanting a change know the reason.

Coach obviously didn't trust either QB enough to win the game for him. Hopefully the next QB will earn that trust.

Then the staff is incompetent for not having Mettenberger ready to play, if that is the case.

It falls on them to have someone who can run a decent offense.

Did Miles address how preparation starts with recruiting?

Maybe you should call him yourself and let him in on all your monumental points.

Very good and crucially important distinction; may this be his learning from this terrible disappointment.

really hope this wasn't the case, no players should be able to black mail a coach, for one, what do most of these top players hope to do? Its get to the NFL if as a coach any player ever did something like that id let him know right quick who is the person that has all the power that can take that dream from him. My biggest thing is and it really bothers me is that Miles quit, even only down two scores just gave up and kept JJ in there running the same offense. That is terrible.

The further removed from the game we get the more I accept the possibility that perhaps we were just the second best team in the country this year. Bama was likely the only team that we couldn't push around, and when the run game fell apart we had nowhere to go

If its any consolation to you this is the best Bama team I have seen since the Bryant era. So, 2nd best to it in 2011 is very good. What the LSU fanbase should be excited about is:
2012 LSU > 2011 LSU
and to start out
2012 Bama < 2011 Bama

Bama players tend to get coached up and generally improve throughout the season. Not so true with LSU

You don't continue banging your head against a wall hoping for different results. You realize it hurts and try something else...He had options and he used none of them.... there is a reason he is paid to make big decisions and he didn't. It was embarrassing to watch both as a coach(of other sports in other locations) and as a fan. I love the tigers, but leader has to be willing to take chances and of all people Miles should know that.

You're agreeing with the rest of this story then? Someone's gonna have to spill the beans...

Then why keep just one in there? The bottom line is RS approached Miles over a week ago and wanted a change. His #s were way way down since JJ was back. The entire OL agreeed. Miles decided against the change and words were exchanged. Stud got into it with Miles closer to the game. Big deal happened between players before game and at half there was pushing but no punches over the topic. Miles was "blackmailed" by a group of players. THats why it looks/seems/smells so awkward that Miles wouldn't make the move. He has lost much control over the locker room from the story told.

Thats why the shocker came out that RS is going pro, yeah right, he was pushed out basically. Thats also why he got in 3 plays! The greater part of the team wanted JLee and so goes the distracted play by the offense.

TIFWIW....from a players mouth...I am positive the rest of the story is gonna find its way out.

You still don't see it. Les has his faults but this team was fuc*ing amazing. I would put this year's LSU team over Bama's 1992 and 2009 team. I thought 2011 Bama was about a 10-14 pt better team than LSU because the passing game was so weak. But you have basically the same team with a better QB next year. That's scary good.

I hate to say this, but the bizarre demeanor of that team points to a very dark rift .......if the players engaged in mutinous behavior, they are guilty of one of the worst team sins.

I have never sensed this big a disturbance in the force....

Saint may have actually found it.

LSU's players looked like they didn't want to be there. Hell, the coaching staff looked that way. Something wend down, I have watched this team all year long and this game was mind blowing.

I don't claim to know the whole story but things seem to be adding up. JL did something to get in doghouse(and deserved to be there) Some players wanted Miles to turn the other cheek and give him a pass. Miles is not going to take the pressure off of himself and air dirty laundry. I actually have if anything gained respect for Miles.

Sounds like CLM was inadequate at the want for the desire to properly prepare a significant map toward the destination of victory!

I agree, i thought we were very Lucky to have won at bama ,in a game in which ya'll really out played us. So ya'lls players had that knowledge plus revenge is one hell of a motivator, throw the BCS championship in there and it was just the perfect storm for Bama. The Tide Dominated one hell of a good LSU football team Monday night, i can only imagine the proud that you Bama fans feel. The Bear was smiling down on ya'll monday night.
