Assuming Saban will have a top notch defense every year, are we going to fold and not throw the ball against bama anymore?

A second option if they had worked on it could have been 4 wideouts that would stretch the field. Remember, and I know it's bama, but we won 2 NC the last 10 years with conventional QB's. But the QB who was in Monday is not in the same boat as the other 3 you mentioned.

You still got to get it done. Individually all the Tigers got whipped as well. Except for the D Line..I thought they played a great game.

Was he laughing when he said it?
no. Chris Low told the story last night on the tiger show on 690. on field after game Smart tells them that LSU was running plays Bama wasn't prepared for, LSU just couldn't execute them.
I was the same way, like wtf???
but in some bama paper articles story has been repeated, even saying WRs were open but QB couldn't get the ball there
take it FWIW, I was surprised too
eta: typo- wasn't prepared for

Brian Ware, tiger player from the early 2000's ??? (under Saban) was on sports radio in Mobile today. He knows both Saban and LSU. Said only QBs to beat Saban since the Utah loss in the Sugar Bowl has been Tebow, Cam, Jefferson, and Garcia.....all decent running QBs....said CLM knew that was his only chance, especially after what happened to JL Nov 5. Said everyone knows Lee can't take the pressure. Also said T-Bob got blown up every play Nov 5, so he was not in the game. Said we needed to stretch field and those adjustments were made at half, but JJ couldn't execute and/or line could not hold up. Another adjustment was our FB was split wide in the slot (instead of Sheppard) to confuse Tide D (didn't work). And finally, he indicated that Bama's Defensive calls were all sent from sideline based on our formation....and when we went hurry up, they could not adjust....but we only used it for a few plays (which we did gain a few yards). He was very insightful and in many ways defended CLM....but acknowledged Bama's great D. Our plan was to stop Richardson and make McCarron beat us....he did!
You are missing the point. This is fine. Start JJ.
The point is two-fold.
1) The game plan had no imagination and no flexibility. There was no plan B.
2) Lee should have played in the second half. JJ could start as Brian Ware inferred, but once JJ was a lost boy in a mans world, Lee should have been played.
Brian Ware does not address these two main points.

The key to this game for us was the O line, whether we were running OR passing.
Neither of our quarterbacks do well with pressure.

there isn't any QB who does well with pressure.
Tom Brady is a scared bitch after a couple of hits

so putting a fullback in the slot is an adjustment?
so it wasn't really an adjustment

Based on SCAR's victory, LSU's only hope of victory was getting an overweight QB drunk off his arse so he could run with more power.

Fair assessment. Some are better than others.

My, My, My. Look at this stat line from the Bama '10 game
Seems like Ware is FOS. The teams that beat Bama threw for 200+ yards.
JJ is not that capable of a QB

14/20/0 208 yards 1 TD
JJ 7 27 3.9 avg 0 TDs

The more I read this the more I realize why none of us know who Brian Ware is.

Okay, now you are overreaching.
Still, this mysterious "Brian Ware" person sounds like a made up story, and the supposed analysis makes no sense at all.

they all threw 20 or less times a game. That is not a wide open passing attack. that is a control running game and a throw deep passing attack or yac's.
which means the OL has to stand up and LSU's was invisible as stated in this thread

Yet when it was obvious using JJ was actually useless, he didn't even try to do something different. Signs of a great mind.

Here's the interesting point of these qb's that beat Alabama. They're "running" qb's that broke tendency and went "pass heavy"
Though Garcia doesn't really fit in here. That game was Alshon's game.
