I contend that every other year until this one it was. This year #2 was chosen based on 2 criteria.

1). Money for ESPN

2). Who can beat LSU

#2 maybe but there would have been just as much money for ESPN for OkSt than Bama.

Oh,and you can bet our guys are sick and tired of hearing a bunch of gumps along with ESPN and CBS and whoever else keep saying that Alabama should have won the first game because except for the score they won the game.

Ok,since you hate hearing it so much. I'll say it again. You shouldn't be there. You lost at home against us. Your ranked #2 because a bunch of idiot coaches who never watch games voted you to number 2 and a bunch of coaches who all had a stake in the outcome of the vote because they vote in the best interest of their own team or conference voted you #2

Well it just sucks doesn't it? And if Obama wins the next vote we're going to suck on that for another 4 years. But its the way the rules are this year and there's nothing you or anyone else can do about it. So stop whining and get your arse ready for Jan 9.

Just wondering, how do those totals compare to Birmingham, Mobile, and Huntsville combined? Surely those great places must be thriving as destination cities when places as terrible as New Orleans are doing fine.

Well I know you can walk down the side streets in downtown Huntsville. I guess I wouldn't advise it in downtown Birmingham.
Sorry, I actually love New Orleans. I have great memories of that place. I just don't like being threatened.

Dude I could care less that we are playing bama again, but OSU has a better resume, especially when you consider the big 12 was rated higher then any other conference.

I am telling you right now. If Nicky does not beat lsu jan 9th his seat will start to get uncomfortable.

No way they beat us next year either. No denying that this is a must win, the gumps, saban and the rec will pull out all the stops.

Why would anyone want to visit Huntsville and walk anywhere...let alone down a side street?

I lived in Hoover for 2 years and it was the most depressing 2 years of my life. It wasn't just the city; It was the entire redneck state of Alabama that was depressing.

AS far as not feeling safe in New Orleans. Any large city is going to have some bad elements. That's why it's unfair to compare the crime rate in Gothem to the crime rate in Mayberry.

That being said, I lived in NOLA for 10 years and loved it. Great people, great food, great history, great culture. Truly one of this country's most treasured melting pot cities. There is always something fun to do and something fun to see. New Orleans is not only one of the largest tourist destinations in the country, but it is home to the 4th largest port in the world along with some of the worlds finest hotels and restaurants.

Can you say the same for Birmingham, Tuscaloosa, Montgomery or Mobile? Hell, pick any city you want in Alabama. Do any of them measure up?

If you say schedule, I may agree. Resume, hell f'king no, it's not an absolute. You can't lose to Iowa St. and have a better resume than Bama. A "resume" is a sum total of experience, and it's pretty damn hard to get past that loss.

It's debatable whether they "deserved" it more than Bama, but I doubt many people believe OSU is a better football team than Bama.

Um, yes it is based on BCS rankings. I mean...if it matters.

The basketball tournament analogy is OK if both teams have single elimination. In this case, bama gets double elimination. If the regular season and SEC championship mean anything.

Bama should have to win two.

Miles would never put it in those words "Why is the rematch a big deal?"...followed by an out of conference basketball analogy.

Miles would say..

"we feel very fortunate to have this opportunity...OSU had a great season, are conference champs and are a very deserving team, and I understand the argument against having two teams from the same conference play for the National title; we have never had this scenario in history of our sport".. " so we are happy we got the nod"

And Bama is ranked second. People need to get over it.

Some people just have a victim mentality and are looking at things to be offended about.
