it's a big deal..

we have never had this happen before.

One would think the BCS system would avoid a rematch with in conference since we don't have a playoff system...The regular season should be the qualifier....

This the main problem I have with the "rematch". It renders the former "game of the century" meaningless from 'Bama's perspective. Also violates the holiness that was supposed to be the reglular season. Well, the reglar season is very important, unless it's not.

It's funny that Bama fans act like its the norm to play other SEC teams in
Bowl games. No SEC team has done it for 50-60 years.

Tied in regulation. You got the luck of the coin flip.

Just in case they failed to teach you basic math skills in gumpville you would still have only received 0 points for the 4th or 5th missed fg (hard to recall the exact number if shitty 50+ misses your dumb arse coach forced) no matter if it happened before or after LSU split the middle on theirs.

In order to make this happen you would have to have a whole lot of voters put an inferior team over a better one just to avoid a rematch.

The BCS isn't a season long playoff in the minds of everyone, and never will be. In fact, it's set up to put the number one vs number two in a one game championship. It did, and it worked. Many people still believe the number two team should be the second best team, and they voted that way.

Why are people so confused and still bitching about this? LSU is number one, in the championship vs a team we know they can beat.

That is the point, the ranking of bama #2 contrdicts itself so far asI can see.

LSU won the SEC championship. It's a huge deal.

No it doesn't. The system was never set up to eliminate a team with a loss.

I wouldn't bet the farm on it.

More confident about this game than the Oregon game, or the regular season LSU vs Bama game. No way LSU loses.

I'm complaining because a huge rival gets a pass and a chance to knock off LSU...One turn over or one bad bounce could be the difference.

If you can't see that losing to Alabama will hurt far worse than to OSU, then I can't make the point of why I don't like Alabama getting a gift.

WE passed the test from the SEC...we advance undefeated! Alabama played one less game, has a loss and still advances....

All other SEC teams should be playing in another bowl...

I will never change my mind on this....

Roger no one knows that Bama is better. Period. Just like everyone knew Bama would destroy Utah. Jut like everyone thought Miami would destroy Bama in 92.

Everything favors LSU in the dome vs Bama. Some LSU fans will be embarrassed for bitching so much about the "rematch" come Jan. 10th.

Which should earn you a possible spot in the MNC game...

check it did!

Bama plays Georgia Southern...then watches LSU play UGA for the honor of playing alabama in a rematch...It's backwards!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sports do not work like this

I'm talking about Bama and OSU. No one knows whom would win that game. All we have is their resume. And osu is better.

Nothing in the BCS NC is contingent upon you winning your own conference.

In the future, I think the #2 ranking (after week 9) should be left void..until all teams have finished the season..

that would help fend off the ESPN pump machine that swong a lot of voters 2.5 weeks before the fiasco
