Saban comments about rematch talk with ESPN reporter
Posted by ApexTiger on 12/19/11 at 3:46 pm00
Quote in a recent interview with ESPN reporter
“not to call you guys out, but you sort of started all this talk about a match”
He immediately follows this comment with the following:
“I was watching Kentucky and UNC play basketball, and it was a 1 point game, both teams looked like they could probably play for a national Championship,…I bet no one would think it’s a big deal if these 2 teams play again in the Final game”
Uh!!!!!!!!!!!! Nick!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.... they have a process after the regular season…for that to happen.. It’s called march madness beginning with Conference tournaments
Alabama was eating popcorn, that was your freaking process of getting in this game..
This guy has officially ticked me off and I beginning to lose respect for his view point’s…
Our Coach says he would be honored to play Alabama again after we beat them on their home field (it was a token of respect and he probably never dreamed it would actually happen but he answered the question right after the game)…and Nick’s response today is more like “we’re Alabama, we should be in the MNC game!”..’What’s the big deal?”

nick saban is a douche, is this news??
And lets not forget something very important is Ole Nick's analogy
Both teams are from different conferences.
UNC vs. Duke is no big deal...but heck these teams have a rematch each year during he regular season and sometimes a 3rd time in the ACC tournament..
Basketball is just much different...terrible argument...

Was the little stump egomaniac polishing teh statue of himself while the interview was going on?
Just wait till after the game and he throws players under the bus for losing again.
He'll say something like..."we prepared tehm for exactly that but just couldn't execute when we needed to"
instead of saying something like.."we couldn't execute what we wanted because LSU was disrupting everything we tried"

Let it go and enjoy the guaranteed AP National Championship, as well as the AL and MS state championships. Oh, and the sec championship too.
And if Bama wins, they get to claim a NC, an SEC West runner-up and SEC 3rd place trophy.

It makes me that people get their feelings hurt over what a coach for a college football team says. I don't understand why everyone takes this so serious.
Well, it just aired on ESPN 5 minutes ago
He is our former coach, so it isn't just another coach talking on ESPN...
They talk about alcoholics and people like that who never ever change until they hit rock bottom. Well, they change because when they hit rock bottom they have an awareness, they have an acceptance and a commitment to change.
Changes in history usually occur after some kind of catastrophic event. It may be 9/11, which sort of changed the spirit of America relative to catastrophic events. Pearl Harbor kind of got us ready for World War II, and that was a catastrophic event.

According to the final polls it's much better...and the polls are what we go by...right?

What would you expect him to say? "We suck we shouldn't be here"? WTF? The only criteria to get in this game is to be #1 or #2. So, we deserve to be in this game by rule just as much as LSU does. I'm sick of you frigging corn dogs that say we don't deserve it. I bet our players do to. I can't wait for this damn game.

Right. He should be thanking ESPN to an extent. They helped guide a lot of people's perceptions with regard to Alabama.

With 5 weeks left in the season ESPN started the rematch talk...which is why Alabama only dropped 1 spot in the polls
That never happens
