I'm not going to downplay Richardson. That guy was as good as advertised. That said, in my many years of watching LSU, I have never seen a guy who makes so many big plays as Mathieu does. I would love to see Mathieu win it, but if he doesn't I'd like to see RGIII. First class person and great player who has completely turned around a program that was miserable for almost 30 years

"I just won the Heisman"

Is cocky as frick. I was all behind the guy until that. Did you see Ingrams' acceptance speech? You can be a humble superstar. RGIII came across as entitled.

Some voters have said they are leaving TM7 off because of "character issues."

Since when did smoking something that is LEGAL (sold over the counter for the purpose of smoking) in the MAJORITY of the USA become a "issue" of character???

Oh right, it's against team rules. Forgot about that.....

Apparently, your dad shopping your services during recruiting doesn't hold back one's ability to win the Heisman either.

Richardson's best run of the year came against Ole Miss.

This will go down as one of the closes Heisman votes of all time... TM7 will end up top3. Doubtful he wins - but the final 3 will be close in votes.

But will it resonate with enough Heisman voters to declare him the best in the game? "We thought if we came out with a victory, we could win the Heisman. It's not just about me, it's about all of Baylor Nation," Griffin said. "I don't know if you can say we deserve it, but would definitely be warranted." That Griffin is even being mentioned as a Heisman candidate is a testament to how far this once moribund program has come behind him and coach Art Briles over the last four years. Baylor (9-3, 6-3 Big 12) got its first nine-win season since 1986, will be going to a bowl game for consecutive years for the first time since the early 1990s, and for the first time is considered among the Big 12's best, not the league doormat. "No too many years ago, they said Baylor would never be 9-3, would never beat Texas, would never beat Oklahoma," Griffin said. "Why not (win the Heisman)?"

I remember when that happened, ESPN almost orgasmed over themselves, proclaiming breathlessly that finally, "His Heisman Moment!!!"

On Moscona a heisman expert said he knows of a couple people left TM7 off the ballot because of the "suspension"

So lame... Heisman moments don't happen against a shitty Ole Piss team.

Heisman moments are game changing, momentum swinging scoring plays against elite competition (maybe a punt return TD against a top 3 team, or in the SECCG???)

You would think.

But, according to the sanctimonious, holier than thou media..."witheld from play" equates to ineligible.

your entire quote is from a post-game press conference. I'm talking about his speech on the field to the ESPN (or whatever network it was on) girl as soon as the game ended.

I'm sure he said I just won the Heisman on the field after the game.
