Just got my BCS Tickets... Did I overpay?

I decided to use TicketCity as they will deliver the tickets as early as December 21st.
I got three tickets in Section 101, Row 17 for $1364.00 a piece. $300 service charge for each as well for a total of $4992.24.
What does the rant think? Did I overpay? I felt like the prices have been trending upwards since Sunday night and the longer I wait, the higher they will go, especially after Friday.

Its hard to believe when one considers I got four tickets only 3 rows from the field to the 2003 NC game for only $1,100 total...

I was present at the 03 and 07 games. It doesn't look like it's in the cards for me this year...but I don't think you overpaid!

Not sure man. I hate end zone seats. I got two together in either section 543, 545,547,549 which is premium terrace for 4100. It's a lot, but I didn't go to '07 and I've only been able to go to Oregon and Florida games. Worth it to me. You can always dvr the game and see what everyone else saw later.

I wouldnt pay more than $200 a ticket. I will have a front row seat on a leather sofa. 4 hours of time for a football game is not worth no where near $1600 a person. But, if you're rich do what you want.

That is to say: yes paying that much for a sporting event is ridiculous: BUT to be able to say you were there when one of the greatest college teams ever fielded won the title.

we paid $1200 for a couple of tickets about a month ago and the same seats are now $1450 each
prices will rise for awhile - then they can fall closer to game time depending on the seats - premium seats will likely go up but cheap seats might decline somewhat
