I was looking up Chollie Mac stuff and happened to look at LSU's records while I was there:

LINK

1988-1992 seasons:
24-32 (.429)

This is why I have never been that upset with Saban. He brought this team back to prominence.

How did the team do during your time at LSU?

Exact same time period for me
The highlight was leading #1 FSU in Tiger Stadium for about a quarter

For the life of me can never forgive Gerry D for screwing up 2.5 years of LSU Football while I was a student.

LSU was crap after that '97 Ole Miss loss thereon.

2004 Nick Saban 9-3 6-2

Little known fact, but I was the one that brought back the magic:
94 - 4-7, so I canned Hallman
95 - 7-4-1
96 - 10-2
97 - 9-3
98 - 4-7 I graduated in May, and things went to crap

6-0, baby. I got started late and will be a part-time student for about the next ten years.

I fared a little better, being a little ahead of you - time at the main campus was 87 to 91, missing the 88 season, so 24-20-1 (counting the tie as half and half, about .533)
