which led to personal foul / roughing the QB call. Regardless, that play was deafening
there was only one penalty 15 yards for facemask...
there was no 5 yard facemask back then.

I think most of you are very young. Yes, it could be louder in Tiger Stadium with 25,000 fewer people. I've watched games there for 52 years. There was a rawness to Tiger Stadium back then. There were fights in the stands at every game; we drank our whisky straight; and you peed into a trench in the floor of the bathrooms.
There're a number of loudest moments:
1) 1959 when Billy Cannon shook off Jake Gibbs at midfield to break free for the goal line
2) 1969 when George Bevan broke through the line to block Auburn's extra point that would've tied the game. A 21-20 final, and Auburn had Heisman winner Sullivan playing
3) 1970 each of the three times Notre Dame turned the ball over on downs inside the LSU 10 yard line--ND playing with 3 All Americans on defensive line and with Tom Gatewood and Joe Theisman
4)1976 when Rusty Domingue blocked the last Nebraska field goal attempt that left us tied 6-6 against the #1 team
5)1979 Southern Cal game when Gajan broke off tackle for a 40 yard run down west sideline toward the south
6)the earthquake game
7)'07 Florida, each of the last three times LSU converted 4th downs and then when we scored to go ahead.
8) '09 Florida when LSU was ready to take the field to open the game--this one is because there was a reverberation in the sound that made my ears hurt. I didn't need a seismograph.

2007 LSU/Florida game- from the point they announced USC loss (single loudestpoint I have heard: louder than Auburn missed FG IMO)until the end of the game especially on each first down conversion and last TD was so loud my ears were ringing afterward. I honestly will never forget that whole experience!
LSU/Oregon 2011- it doesnt compare to Tiger Stadium loud but damn proud how well LSU fans travel and represent. Orgegon fans were like "what the hell!"

When Ricky-Jean blocked the field goal to go to OT against Bama.
Loudest single reaction I've ever heard. And it lasted for 3-4 minutes. It was raining Coke and water in the student sections from all the delirious people throwing their drinks.

Alot of ppl in the stadium knew the score to the USC 5 mins before it was announced. The missed field goal was louder because every tiger fan in the whole stadium was fixed on 1 single thing at the same time. And 98% of those tiger fans realize that LSU won the game at the same second. IMO

Friday, November 23, 2007, at the end of triple OT. Arkansas 50, LSU 48. Hog fans went nuts.

Roger Choup. My point being the 15 yard penalty gave Troy an automatic first down which kept their drive alive. Back on topic.....the crowd during that game was tops in my book, especially that play.

1972 lsu vs ole miss. bert jones pass to davis
into the end zone as horn goes off. there was one second on clock after previous play ;lsu was inside the ten yard line. ole miss fans thought game was over but there was one second on clock.
tigers win 17-16
this moment is preserved on lsu cd thats been out
for some time...it was the most excited john ferguson ever sounded and lsu crowd went wild;ole miss fans would not leave.
a sign was erected on 61 hwy just south of woodville,ms by ole miss fans it said:
"you are now entering louisiana turn your clocks back one second"

Earthquake game.
I was literally afraid I might suffer some long term hearing loss.

Loudest moment was Auburn in '88. It's not a myth, folks. 2nd loudest moment was Auburn '07. Loudest entire game was USC in '79. Far fewer fans made far more noise than any of the great games in recent years; '03 UGA and '07 Florida come to mind as 2nd and third.

LSU-UGA 03 when Skyler caught the TD, i was sitting on the second row behind the UGA bench and had already got Greg Blue to give me the bird from so much shite talking(i was 17). the student section looked like the waves of the ocean, awesome sight

LSU vs VT (year we won the nation championship) sitting in the south endzone. It was like the third play of the game and we sacked Taylor, after two plays of no gain. The place exploded.

Skylar Green's TD catch vs Georgia in '03 without a doubt.....Could actually feel the sound waves.....Had a hard time hearing for almost 2 days...

Gerry Dinardo era LSU Auburn "The Magic's Back" game.
I am sure there were louder but I have only made a handful of games in my lifetime.
