I don't know about a moment....but totally agree that the loudest game was USC 79....

This. 4th down for #1 ranked USC in their own territory late in 4th Qtr. Tigers up and Benji putting the rush on QB McDonald. Bull$hit roughing call deflated us.

I hate that one keeps getting metioned frankly. I realize and acknowledge that is was a very loud emotional moment but the fact that it came as a result of a game not involving LSU, not to mention most people say it was louder for that score announcement than it was for the action that was happening right in front of them, is actually embarrassing imho. LSU fans are a weird lot. We tend to obsess over teams and circumstances beyond our teams control. Oh well I guess it's what makes us interestingly unique.

Well I am sure not all of it came from it being USC hate. Although that fueled it.

The main cheer came from the fact that #1 opened up for us if we just win.

I was too. Second row back and bitching the whole game about what shitty seats these were in the student section of the end zone. Then, Fuller caught that pass and it was RIGHT THERE IN FRONT OF MY FRIGGIN' FACE! So, yeah, they were shitty seats, but even shitty seats have their moment.

I don't understand how people can say the earthquake game. Tiger Stadium holds tens of thousands more people now than it did then.

We drank more then than y'all do now, and we had not been spoiled by a recent national championship. With all those tens of thousands of more fans in the stands have you caused the seismograph to record a TD in Death Valley?

Well?

I didn't think so.

Believe me. . . it was f***ing LOUD!!!

LSU -Georgia 2003 No doubt
When Skyler caught go ahead touchdown. Sitting in North Endzone, and the Band was playing in the NW Corner and I couldn't hear them over the roar. I was also hugged by several strangers after that TD. It really was 90k best friends.

Didn't have time to read entire thread, so I'm sure these were mentioned.

Maybe it's because I was 12 and in the corner of the S Endzone, but the goal line stand in 1986 against Notre Dame was incredibly loud. On 4th down before the snap I remember thinking it couldn't get any louder, and then ND ran an option to Tim Brown that was dead before it started. Steve Rehage (remember the entire stadium convince he'd knock someone's head off at some point in his career) hit him for a loss, and I recall plugging my ears the roar was so incredible!

Another sleeper is the Mickey Guidry to Sammy Martin TD against Texas A&M in 86. Another one maybe jaded by being 12 yrs old and wide eyed, but it's sure great to have those memories! Growing up sitting in the S Endzone makes it a dead lock that a kid will be a lifelong Tiger Fan.

Tie: Florida '07 when they announced the USC score and the Earthquake game against Auburn. Interestingly, for the Auburn game my seats in those years were on about the 20 yard line, midway up toward the South end zone; and then in '07 were on the 30 yard line on the West side toward the South end zone and the sound was equal from either side.

A steady 3 hour roar from the Tiger faithful. Unbelieveable noise, energy, stadium rumble...I still have a headache 30+ years later.

Seriously? Do ya'll even understand the words ya'll are using? Some of you actually think that an entire game with 20,000 less fans was as loud for 3 straight NONSTOP hours as say the 30 seconds following the Bama blocked kick in 2008? GTFO.

ETA: Not only do ya'll think that but ya'll don't even think it was close?

ETA2: I have no problem believing that this game was maybe the loudest game in TS History, but not moment. Not close.

I was in the North Endzone as well. People were going so nuts that they started falling from the top. That's the only time I thought "oh, shite, I might get hurt" in TS.

In no particular order:

- Vaughn's 5th miss in '05.
- Flynn to Byrd vs Auburn in '07.
- USC/Stanford score announced vs UF in '07.

Dishonorable mention: 4th and 10 for Arkansas in OT in 2007. I still can't believe they converted. That had to be the loudest I've ever heard Tiger Stadium when LSU was on defense.

okay loudest single moment EVER in tiger stadium...

1983 season opener with FSU and two F-15 flew over tiger stadium - much lower than any planes flying over the stadium - before or after.. and there was NO wind so the noise was deafening...

now you happy

LSU -Georgia 2003

One of the more interesting moments was after Georgia scored on a long screen pass. Instead of silence, dejection, boos, the crowd begins to cheer louder and louder and louder until the following kickoff. That, to me, was the most impressive moment as an LSU fan.

which led to personal foul / roughing the QB call. Regardless, that play was deafening.
