Excellent points. I almost feel guilty agreeing with it, but it's true. The last 3 years of offense has been like watching someone try to push a string.

Yep. "Pushing a rope uphill" is the imagery you're going for, I think. That's EXACTLY how it felt.

What scares me is that Les will not modify his game plan for Lee.
Don't start making excuses before the game starts.

Lee will be just fine. Will he be better than JJ? That remains to be seen. Hopefully he will.

JJ is no longer a concern of mine, as he is not with the team right now. Lee is the QB, and I am hoping he is up to the task.

All the speculation of who would have, or wouldn't have, won what game if such and such had/had not played. . .it's all just speculation for those who decided long ago who they were going to pull for/against in the QB pool. When the QB they didn't like did poorly, they were on here to rub people's nose in it. When they did well, they hid.

I have always given credit where it was due. Lee helped us win a couple games last year. JJ helped us win several. Would Lee have won the games JJ won? Who knows?

Would JJ have won the games Lee won? Who knows?

People speculate, but their conclusions are ALWAYS presuppositional. . .always. So it is easy to discount.

Bottom line. I think we needed both last year to finish 11-2. Either of them alone, and we do no better than 9-4. I think we needed both this year, too. . .but that is out of our hands.

It is Lee's bus to drive. He gets the credit, he gets the blame. So don't start preparing excuses for the kid. Let him play. It's the same thing I said about JJ the last 2 years.

Don't crucify him for shitty play, or excuse his shitty play. . .before the ball has even been snapped.

And don't already start preparing a list of others to blame if he plays poorly.

That's just pathetic. Really.

He got his number called way too early, watched JJ start for 2 yrs when he could have bailed....but he stuck with it and NOW is his time.

General Lee is ready to lead the troops to Battle!

i just like the fact that lee and JJ has been practicing against our secondary. I saw a interview with krags and he said lee was already there, he just needed minor tweeks here and there.

A season without having to see JJ's "Confused Face" as he walks off the field before the punt.

i get so tired of hearing this. That is a anomaly or just plain unlucky. it could also be a consequence of crowtons shitty game plan by streching sideline to sideline instead of going vertical.

Unlucky has nothing to do with and u know that. His problem is not being able to read coverages and pressure. I just hope he has gotten better at it.
He does not have to be great, just not put the D in a bind.

delarge do you really thinkk JJ was better at reading defenses. You're using JLee's stats from 08' and JJ's stats from last year. Use JLee's stats from last year and I would put JLee's abillity to read defenses above JJ's.

I never said he was better but I do think JL will try to force it in there which led to the picks. He still did the same thing last yr. I would rather have a QB that would hold onto it and we punt it away, than a qb that tries to force it in there.

JJ is better at reading defenses. JJ throws a better deep ball. JJ is a better runner. JJ has better footwork but Lee has a better throwing motion. Lee is slightly more accurate and puts better touch on the ball. That is how I would break them down after watching them play the last 3 years.

Lee will do great, last year he did a good job even though he never was able to get in a rhythm with the short playing time. I am looking forward to him this year.

Oh, I'm not making excuses. Just the facts. J Lee isn't the same QB as Jefferson. Therefore, the game plan needs to be tweeked. Just a fact and really don't see how you figure it's an "escape valve" just in case he shits the bed. Crowton never seemed to be able to change his game plan to suit his QB at the time, we'll see if it was really Crowton's problem or Les's.

I say serviceable bc he didnt put the defense in bad positions.

How in frick do you figure 3 and out without flipping the field isn't putting the defense in a bad position? After this statement I thought you couldn't insult your own intelligence any more and then you give us this.

I actually agree with this. I also feel that a QB should have the ability to drive the ball down the field using the weapons around him and then put it in the end zone. JJ has proven that he can not do that on a consistent basis.
