I just don't understand how people can continue to ask for Jefferson. He had the best gane of his career against Texas AM and he threw for 153 yards while still missing numerous throws and a poor completion percentage. 153 yards people. Granted Lee is not the next coming of Joe Montana but let's face it our offensive line in 2008 was horrible. Someone was on that kids arse from the snap every game. We had little to no running game and our defense sucked as well. I also remember Lee coming in and saving our arse several times last year. If Lee played against NC, or WV, or Miss St, or more against Tenn, etc we roll those teams by 3 TD's. We won games last year in spite of Jefferson. Time to move on.

How dare you throw out facts that put JJ in a bad light, jwill. JJ was, after all, this close to becoming the all-time winningest QB in LSU history.

Somehow, I think the football gods made sure that wouldn't happen.

Facts about JJ. The difference in us realists and you Lee fanboys is that we acknowledge that JJ, on balance, has been bad. Unfortunately, Lee was worse. JJ equals or surpasses Lee in nearly every statistical passing category. And he's made many plays, including TDs, with his legs.

A fanboy like you shouldn't accuse anyone of ignoring facts. Please respond.

Did he do anything else against A&M? Try to jog your memory. How many points did he account for?

And statistically, that wasn't his best passing game by a long shot.

I couldn't have said it better myself. Jordan Jefferson was a mediocre QB on his best days and horrible on his worst. He's had plenty of time to prove himself and now it's time for someone else.
As for Lee and the pick 6's....that was THREE years ago!! He was a FRESHMAN!! I am not expected Montana either but I would love to see a "cajun cannon."

The only thing JJ does better than Lee is scramble - that's it. There is nothing more.

Stats, by the way, can't be taken solely on face value. They must be analyzed.

By looking at the stats, one QB is getting better with experience, the other is not. Care to guess which is which?

JL has thrown for 18 INT's in his career, the same as JJ, but JJ threw for 10 of his in his junior season against only 7 TDs. Lee threw one INT with 2 TDs. JJ was the 100th ranked QB in the NCAA last season.

Also, if JJ is so great, why was Lee inserted to the lineup when the game was on the line v. Florida? Shouldn't we have had our best QB in the game for that one? Which QB drove LSU down the field in the closing minutes of the TENN game? Why wasn't it JJ?

JJ only passed for 100+ yards in 6 of 13 games last year, and only surpassed 200 yards once. In fact, he threw for 51 yards or less in 4 games. Dude, that isn't just pathetic, it's downright indefensible for a starting QB. Yet here you are defending it.

I am not about to say Lee will win the Heisman or even be All-SEC, but I believe without hesitation that he deserves a chance to show he's better than the 100th ranked QB in the country. I'm pretty sure he will.

You are already placing potential blame for a potentially poor performance on Miles.

No, I'm not. I'm commenting on the fact that LSU has had problems adjusting their game plan. Don't know how many times I have to say that.

See, this is the way I plan on doing it. I'm going to review all that I can recall concerning JL and his abilities. After I have a good idea about what I can reasonably expect out of him, I will watch him play the game. This is the tricky part, so pay attention. AFTER he plays the game I'm going to evaluate what I thought his performance was. I'm going to base that on things like footwork, reads, accuracy, decision making, etc........
THEN, I'm going step back and evaluate what kind of job I thought the coaches did. I'll evaluate coach shite. You know, play calling, game planning, personnel packages, shite like that. After all that evaluating is done, I will come back here and post my opinions.
I think it's a pretty damn clever method.

2nd team All-SEC after the season. Johnson was a Parade All-American.

Black and Big Herm were solid. That OL was solid. One of the better lines in LSU history. Charles Scott topped 1100 yards.

I'm with you on this. JJ is what he is and he isn't a QB. THis has a been a couple of miserable arse seasons for the LSU offense and, like you, I just can't see him improving much

You should enjoy this respite. Miles is already talking up his return next year. What do you think that will do to ZM's playing time ?

Riiiiight.

We'll all see that I am right after Lee has his first poor game.

When JJ had a bad game, I was the first one to call him on it. After Vandy, I even called for Lee to start for a bit.

Lee fanboys will not allow a disparaging remark regarding Lee. TigerLEE has even stated that Lee has no weaknesses that he knows of. . .and TigerLEE is representative of the rest of you.

I think Lee will do fine, but some of you are getting your excuses in order. It tells me that you have considerably less faith in him than I do. I am not preparing for his failure.

I never refer to pre-season accolades. They are popularity contests.

Post-season accolades are indicative of how they performed. . .usually.

There's no denying how bad JJ was gor that 7 games stretch last year, yet he continued to start and ended the season pretty well.

BTW, drop the entitlemenr shite. Lee had a chance to earn the start all spring and falk. He couldn't. He didn't deserve anything until he got the start by default.

It was given. Not earned.

I am anxious to see what Lee can do. I'll take an interception every now and then, if he's consistently moving the ball down the field and throwing TD passes. I think Lee will get the ball to his playmakers and let them make the plays.
