The comments are grand. "If he was refusing to shake Luis' hand, then why does he grab his arm afterwards?"

Seriously, people are that dumb apparently.

Truth is had Suarez shaken evra's hand the media would jump on that it's an admission of guilt story, Suarez was always going to lose today

Yep I already posted those pictures in the matchday thread.

No matter what anyone says, I think that is pretty fricking clear.

It doesn't even matter for me though. The handshake shouldn't have happened and I wouldn't have shaken his hand either. And that isn't homerism, its me being honest about my pride.

Whatever. It is behind us now. The only reason it is still relevant is the media.

Now we can look forward to the FA cup and a much needed trophy the next weekend

Agreed, the media is the only reason there needs to be an apology... That country is at the mercy of the tabloid culture..

still waiting for SAF's, Evra's and Rio's apology for their behavior yesterday...

Rio has to apologize for nothing. How he's dragged into this, I don't understand. He sees Suarez not shake Evra's hand, so he doesn't shake his. Simple and absolutely nothing wrong with it.

I dont expect him to, but if shaking hands is considered the moral high ground... then he chose the low road...

I dont blame him, just like I dont blame Luis...

Im beginning to wonder what the odds are that Luis and LFC decide to part ways this summer and both get a fresh start... I'd hate it, but would understand...

This whole situation is absurd. Even if Suarez completely snubbed Evra, Evra's theatrics caused the mass hysteria. I hate JT but when he was snubbed, he took it like a man and shook the next guy's hand. Why make a big deal out of it?

I'll say it one more time, if Suarez doesn't respect Evra then he shouldn't have shook his hand. He didn't give in to the hypocritical and racist British society.

And don't let the apologies from this morning make you think otherwise. Those were destined to come out, no matter what happened.

If there were any question about who is the most polarizing figure in football at the moment, Luis Suarez answered them at Old Trafford on Saturday. In the span of some 90 minutes, the controversial Uruguayan refused to shake Patrice Evra's hand before the opening whistle, found himself at the center of a tunnel bust-up at halftime, petulantly kicked the ball into the stands on one occasion and toward the touchline past Evra on another, and scored an improbable goal in the 80th minute against the run of play. Before the game, the police confiscated thousands of copies of a United fanzine that contained a poor "joke" for fear that it would stir up further racial hatred. And after the final whistle blew, giving Manchester United a deserved 2-1 victory, Evra sprinted down the pitch to celebrate with the fans right in front of Suarez, causing another moment of tension between the two sides, all before Sir Alex Ferguson branded the striker a "disgrace."

Absolutely comical the twisting the media is giving the entire situation.

Agreed. And the saddest thing is how most of England is just taking what is spoon fed them by the media. I would bet anything that not one of the regular posters on this board would shake Evra's hand after what happened. I sure as hell wouldn't. It's not that big of a fricking deal. People are acting like Suarez punched him in the face as he passed.

Since when did everyone become such pussies? Who cares? I didn't care when Evra jumped around like a fricking idiot in front of Luis after the game. He had the right to. I think the only reason it's such a big deal is because the media is making a shite storm about it.

I hate to say it, but I think he may be gone by the summer, and it might be the best for the club. It's just a shame that it had to happen because everyone is such vaginas about something they shouldn't even spend a passing moment on. This entire this is over a hand shake. A HAND SHAKE. Everyone needs to grow some nuts and chill the frick out. It really isn't a big deal.

The man should never be taken seriously in criticism again. By his philosophy Giggs, Rooney, Keane, Rio, and Cantona (5 of his love children) would have been booted from the club with all ties severed and a dishonorable legacy maintained.

What a fricking joke of a human being.

Nice article from John Barnes...

Speaking of which, how nice would it be to have a winger of his quality... legend

Personally closing the book on whether he is guilty or not and who is right or wrong, I'd like to look at a slightly different aspect of the situation.

Do you guys think Liverpool are better off parting ways with Suarez over the summer? Is it in the best interest of the club to wipe the slate clean at this point?

I think a lot depends on the rest of the season, if he can bang in some goals and put this incident on the past... I think he'll be fine and he can move forward with the club.

If not, than it may be best. That said, I hope we wouldnt settle for some cut rate price. If Real Madrid wants him, it'd be you can either give us Benzema/Higuain or enough to buy a world class striker...

No. I am completely against this idea. He is a world class talent that isn't worth giving up over Manchester United.

this.... we had a great striker in Torres, that left us for Chelski.... now we found another one, and we want to sell him because he's supposedly racist??

here's what i'm worried about as far as Suarez is concerned.... can he consistently put the ball in the back of the net? if so, keep him.... if not, sell him.... and right now, he can, so you know what i'm saying....

Strangely enough, Sir Alex of all people (as posted by the picture above) had the same idea. He kept Cantona and Keane after those fiascoes, and that club recovered face. I guess it would really depend on how Luis can rebound from this. Is he going to let it ruin him? Or rise above it?

I read somewhere that apparently Gerrard was absolutely furious at Suarez for how he conducted himself throughout the game. If you have Steven mad at you, that can't be any good for the locker room. If that is the case then this problem may be much bigger than appears.

Raheem Sterling = Next great Jamaican-English winger for Liverpool (crosses fingers)
