If A&M joins the SEC then how would you like to balance the conference? My first choice would be to add Virginia Tech to the East.
Who do I absolutely not want? Oklahoma or Oklahoma State in the West. Clemson, Florida State or Maryland in the East.

I vote move Auburn to the east and combine the Mississippi schools to one to keep it a 12 team league.
It would be as easy to do the same combining in the state of Tennessee, but Vandy adds value to the league in areas outside of football.

Why would you want to make the conference harder than it already is? I'd like to make it easier if anything. Add Louisville to the west and NC State to the east.

quote:Would you mind explaining these a little more. Oklahoma/Florida State would add a ton of history/revenue with the SEC. Not to mention both have very good baseball programs. Were already the kings of the baseball world and adding one of these teams to our football conference we would move from the best to absolute juggernaut. Also I think if Okie State and Arkansas would be an awesome game to watch every year and I would love to kick the shite out of the aggies on a yearly basis.

Same here. Texas and DC area TV markets would be huge additions for the SEC.

I don't want to add any other teams to the SEC. It's just fine how it's.

I'd really like A&M in the SEC, but IMO we should add a "basketball school" in the East if we bring in A&M in the West.
And although I think A&M would be a good addition, I'm just fine with things staying as they are for a while... I'm pretty fond of the SEC as is.

I'm sure it's been said already, but Clemson is the natural add to me.
They already have a natural rival in South Carolina.
If it was up to me, we would add FSU and Clemson and move Vandy to the West.

I would take Clemson.
Just hope they don't go to 16 teams. Need to max out @14.

Florida State would be an AWESOME addition. The SEC would completely lock up the Florida market. Plus, Tallahassee is a fun town, the FSU campus is gorgeous, and Doak is a cool stadium.

I'm all for A&M coming to the SEC, but I don't want to see some massive overhaul where Bama and/or Auburn move to the SEC East.
As an LSU fan, I would be really pissed if we lost our annual game with either Bama or Auburn, or both. And it's not just losing the game per se, it's losing the annual battle among these schools for first place in the West that I wouldn't want to lose.
If expansion does happen, as a fan I hope they leave the current divisions alone by adding a team or two in the current west along with a team or two in the East, and definitely DO NOT shift current SEC teams to the opposite divisions.

One thing that must be considered is the politics of the matter. Oklahoma will be pressured to bring OSU (T Boone Pickens) with them wherever they go. So I see A&M, OU, OSU, and Missouri joining. Mizzou brings two big TV markets.
This would bring the SEC to 16 teams with A&M, OU, OSU, Mizzou, Ark, LSU, UM, MSU in the WEST. Move Bama and AU to the EAST.

A&M shouldn't join the SEC.
Putting together some kind of shite-hook super-conference where we have Mizzou and Oklahoma State, etc will be the end of the SEC as we know it.
We have a good thing going. Lets not frick it up with shortsighted decisions that have longterm consequences.
