Yes he did. He had a losing season 3 of the 4 years he was there and had an overall record of 19-25 in his 4 years there. 12 of his 19 wins came in 2008.

Do you think it was the right decision, and how did he manage to have such a great run that one year?

If you ever spend two minutes talking to Capone you would know the answer.

He had a couple of studs that fell into his lap. In 2A ball a couple of players can make all the difference.

Its always cool when your ex-offensive coordinator starts the "BOOM you got fired thread." Oh, Jason. He hired you out of coaching 7th graders, bruh.

Never talked to him before, but I am assuming by your post that he makes Les seem like JD Salinger.

He applied for a job with my company a few years back. I might still have his resume somewhere in my email folders. It is one of the most nonsensical things I have ever read.

The dude opened a sports bar on one of the busiest streets in BR. It failed and he blamed it on location.

Yeah, I never understood how that failed. I went there for lunch one time, and this is back when there were still smoking sections , and it was packed with people.

He must have had an absurdly high operating cost.

Christian Life Academy football coach Warren Capone was intrigued when he saw the name of one of the applicants for CLA’s offensive coordinator job.

Soon, CLA hired Jason McClendon, the great-nephew of Capone’s coach at LSU, the legendary Charles McClendon.

“I didn’t know coach McClendon had a nephew who was in coaching,” Capone said. “But as soon as I met him I knew he was the guy we were looking for.

“His résumé showed that he was a successful coach and he’s the nephew of my coach. All that made it an easy choice.”

The 29-year-old McClendon plans to move to Baton Rouge from Shreveport in the next couple of weeks. He is currently working in the fitness training industry but was also a junior high coach at Loyola Prep. The former Louisiana College linebacker also spent one season as an assistant coach at Alexandria Senior High.

McClendon replaces Glenn Barras, who has been named CLA’s athletic director after helping CLA finish as the Class 1A runner-up last fall.

“Nobody is a bigger LSU football buff than me and I knew Warren Capone was an All-American linebacker at LSU. And I knew Christian Life went to the finals last year,” McClendon said. “I just sent him (Capone) an e-mail to see if Christian Life was looking to hire any coaches.

Why did they wait until now to fire him? They should be starting practice within a week right...?

1A not 2A, Christian Life has been 1A since the 05-06 school year.
