I stand firmly to my point that, in fact, season 2 is the best of them all

Frank and the gang are easily the most compelling group of characters throughout the entire series

best series in the history of TV

ever.

I have to jump in and say this show ruined all other drama/cop shows for me. Nothing else is written as well or as realistic as this.

I understand that each season has a main focus (streets, port, politics, schools, media).

My question: after season 1, do they still refer to the streets even though they're mainly focused on politics, school system, etc?

yeah just some seasons have their main focus. all the topics are still in play though and some reappear out of nowhere.

I've watched all the better HBO series. The Wire was the last one I thought would appeal to my taste. It turned out to be my favorite. Don't skip this one.

Yes. The streets and the corner boys are heavily involved in all seasons.
