Thinking about watching this show (haven't seen it) because I've heard so many great things about it.

Is it as good as the hype?

Season 1 was really really good.

I'm about halfway through season 2, and to be honest, I've had trouble getting through Season 2. Its pretty boring.

From what others have said, Season 2 is the slowest season. Seasons 3 + 4 are supposed to be AMAZING. Because of this, and the fact Season 1 was really good...I'm going to trudge through Season 2 at some point soon.

Best TV series of all time. Be prepared to have it consume your life until you finish it.

It's only the smartest show ever created. Yea's it's "slow" but that's because it takes time to unfold the incredibly dense storylines. The only complaint I have about the show is that it is so good that every dramatic TV show I watch after seems pales in comparison.

I'd rate the seasons like this:

3 4 2 1 5

Season 2 is not nearly as bad as people say it is. It just seems to skew off in a different direction than all the other seasons.

I made this exact post around January of this year. THe best and most accurate response I got was...

"If you do not watch it, it will be the second worst mistake you will ever make in your life"

Have no idea what the worst is? But it's neck & neck w/ the Sopranos for me.

Definitely worth the hype. I just finished up the last season a couple of weeks ago. I'd put it right up there with the Sopranos. Every episode kept me interested. The characters are great; especially Omar, Clay Davis, Stringer Bell, Bubbles, ...

Starting Dexter next week.

Season 2 starts to pick up towards the end. The early episodes are a little slow.
