That angle is terrible. He tried not to knock the ref over and was (very slightly) off balance. The arm that went on the kid was just a stabalizer. A small push from a 300 pounder to a kid who isn't expecting it will always look bad.
FWIW running up and down the sidelines gets agravating even in high school settings such as playoffs or big district games where there are a shite ton of students on the "court/sideline" coming from a referee perspective. The players on the bench are even only able to stand up for a moment of non-premeditated celebration

courtside
–noun
(in sports) the area adjoining the official playing area of a court, as in basketball, tennis, or volleyball.
Courtside does not mean on the court. But I would expect you to blame a kid.

Court Side
That doesn't mean on the court FWIW.

Nice try Sparky. I think that means the "Side" of the court. By the way, you're stooopid.

Jesus, it was just a heat of the moment thing, spontaneous, unintentional. A non-event.

Like I said, had this been Artest, Jackson, Kobe, Sheed, AI, or any other of number of players we would not be having this discussion. But Big Baby is an LSU product and therefore is immune to alot of stuff from this board.

Technically, he was on the court. The basketball court is the entire part of the floor, including the sidelines.
Overall, everyone is making a big deal out of this whole thing. The kid amd his dad weren't even paying attention when BB ran by and BB moved him out of the way.
If the kid's dad had played it right, he could have gotten free seats to another game and possibly gotten to meet some of the players. Instead, he looks like a douche and makes the kid look bad.
Also, the kid is nowhere near a fat pudgy kid so stop making fun of a 12 year old and stop acting so jealous that he gets courtside seats and you don't. You people are just as bad as this dad.

This is one of the biggest non-issues in NBA history. People are flat out retarded sometimes.

and usually we say sorry.....why should Davis be asked for an apology..shouldn't he just apologize on his own?
If someone bumped into your child, you would expect them to say sorry.
Funny how you can tell which posters have kids and which rantards don't.

Maybe Baby will do something when they return to Orlando.

The "pussification" of America continues. The said part is the father wouldn't have said jackshit if a Magic player had hit the shot and bumped into his kid.

I think that no one did anything wrong...I think its an issue of courtesy.
Don't you realize in today's world, people are much less courteous of each other????

Nope, you are right. Big Baby should have also thrown in a "frick you kid" after her bumped him and the kids Dad should have punched the kid in the face when they got home because the kid didn't stand up to Big Baby.
I see where I am wrong.

What happened:
1) Davis hits the biggest shot of his career so far, a buzzer-beater that decides an important playoff game.
2) Davis immediately turns to run toward his bench, but has to move right to avoid plowing into a ref.
3) Now, there's a kid in the way, and he brushes by the kid, reflexively extending his right hand and pushing the kid on his back below the right shoulder.
4) The kid, who is probably outweighed by close to 200 pounds, is not injured, not bruised, not even knocked off his feet.
5) Kid's dad is a douche.

WOW. I hope my son, the Doctor, doesn't get wind of this. For some reason, I thought teaching him to work hard and expect no HAND OUTS will lead to success. I'll also pass it on to my other son, the Insurance Agent, and my Daughter, the Teacher and mother of 2.
Next time your kid comes in 2nd, be sure to get that trophy for effort.

Was the kid knocked onto the ground? Was he physically injured in any way? I guess his little feelings were hurt. IF I'm ever in a similar situation with my son, I please hope I don't respond by going to the MEDIA over such a petty issue. Twenty years ago this would have been a total non-issue. It truly saddens me that some people are actually upset over this. I guess he should have just trampled the ref instead of just grazing a kid that didn't even get knocked to the ground.
