No apology is necessary, the kid should have been paying better attention, unless he has a mental disorder, in which event, the father shouldn't have left him out of his site or grasp. Glenn bumped into him thats all and moved him out of the way. These type of things happen from time to time at games when you are that close to the action. The father obiviously has done a lousy job of explainning that to his son. It wasn't intentional. However, knowing the class act Glenn is he will probably tell the kid he is sorry.

thats because you're a bad parent

seriously, the dad should apologize for calling him a "raging animal" and basically saying that he is a thug.

Also, the dad is hated by his peers. He blamed his poor products on a heart surgery and going through a divorce

Uh, no. I'm not. What part of my posts are "attacking" the kid? The part where I said he was in front of his seats? The part where I said he was standing? The part where I said he was looking? Which of these do you feel is an "attack"?

Where did he blame the 12 year old? You don't have an argument about this. The guy never said anything about the kid being to blame. He said the kid should apologize as well for getting in Big Baby's way. I don't se anywhere where he attacked him. Maybe if he had said, that kid was to blame and was a fat porker, that could be considered attacking. If you think saying the kid should apologize as well is attacking, then you are just as much of a bitch as the dad who demanded BB apologize.

You might want to look at your meaning of attack instead of blaming everyone else, Mr. Provetti.

Soooo . . . were you "attacking" the kid when you said no one was at fault?

if you feel better placing all the blame on this kid, go right ahead
Why would I place blame on anyone for something for which there is nothing to blame? It is preposterous for the dad to insist that Davis apologize just as it would be preposterous for him to insist that the kid apologize.

Where is the attack?

Actually, I didn't even say that. I don't think anybody should be apologizing to anyone over this (except, of course, the dad apologizing to everyone including his son for making such an embarassing jackass of himself). I was merely pointing out that the dad was insisting that Davis apologize when it would just as justifiable for him to insist that the kid apologize?

This right here is some serious bad parenting....

Being coutside is a privlege, and it's ridiculous to expect an apology. Short of a player going out of his way to punch you in the junk, you should take what is coming when you are at a game and sitting that close.

It's like a kid's paretns demanding an apology because their kid got hit by a foul ball.

No fault here by anyone. That's going to happen with seats that close. Father is being an arse, as are those here blaming a kid.

Agree 100%. Could GBBD avoided the kid? Probably, but he just gave him a little shove. He didn't push him, knock him down, yell in his face, etc. Just a little "tap". And those making fun of the kid are dumbasses, too. The kid's standing in front of his seat, off the court, and did nothing wrong. It's nobody's fault, it just happened.

i dont think the baby could have avoided the kid. He did the best thing though in barely touching him. The dad needs to be punched though

I have to agree that the seats are pretty close to the court. Granted if I paid that much for those seats I want to be as close as possible. Knowing how close you are you should exercise some caution. Players can't apologize everytime a ball hits someone or they accidently go into the crowd either. If it's that big of an issue put up some kind of barrier.

Furthermore, if you are a relatively new player on a team and you hit a game winning shot in the playoffs you're going to get excited. It looks like he took off running and didn't notice the kid until he was on top of him. Any LSU fans know that Big Baby didn't get his name for shoving kids around. It would be classy of him to apologize and just appease the guy. I manage at Hooters so I understand taking a little crap you don't necessarily deserve. I did like the idea of sending him an autographed ball with the score though!

they just showed on Pardon the Interruption Big Baby issuing an apology thru the media and it was funny as hell, he said something like " I'm kinda of a big person you know, I don't even feel a remote underneath me when I sit down so how do you want me to feel someone that I brushed by in the heat of the moment, but pleeeaaase forgive me."

PTI guys called the father a idiot, rightfully so.

OK I just watched the clip of this and it is fricking ridiculous. Baby barely touched this kid. The dad is a fricking douche.

ETA his dad just ruined what would have been a great story for this kid to tell for the rest of his life. As soon as he gets halfway through it you just know someone's going to interrupt and say "Oh yeah! Your dad's that douchebag that demanded an apology....did Big Baby give you a little shove or throw sand in your vagina?" It'll happen...you watch.

Am I, Ernest Provetti really a douche like everyone keeps saying?
my son was viciously attacked by an over-grown ogre of a man for the Boston Celtics after hitting a game winning shot and I demanded an apology for my son being accidently bumped into.

Does that really make me a douche?

If he had been another player and not a member of the LSU basketball team their would be a different sentiment on this board.
If it was Noah from Bulls/Florida there would be outrage he did not apologize and the fact it makes Florida look bad. Its Big Baby and LSU product which means he is justified in all actions.
